I read something recently about the Alpha Legion and their relation with the Cabal.

the Cabal seem to think if the Human race perishes entirely then the Chaos gods would go with them because they are so heavily involved in the human race.

So I was just wandering if the Chaos gods corrupt any other races, I mean the Eldar are exposed to it a bit with The Black Library and such, the Orks have pretty weak minds and the Tau could be pretty easy to corrupt as well.

At the risk of seeming like an even bigger nerd, I'd liken it to Sauron forging the One Ring. To do everything he needed it to do, he had to invest much of his own power into the ring. Chaos relies on the emotions of sentient mortal races to sustain them, some races are able to feed the gods more emotion due to stronger psychic potential (Eldar>Humans>Tau). No sentient life means no emotion which means no chaos gods. Turns out it was actually a Shrine of Nurgle...
