Just starting out into Warhammer 40k, and am liking the look of Chaos Space Marines as my first army. I've been reading a few posts on the forums and have come up with an army list.

Rhino with Havoc Launcher and Dirge Caster

500pts all up,

The idea being the Khorne squad jumps in the Rhino with the Lord, and runs straight up at their leader, hopefully I can get into a challenge and destroy him
While the 2nd squad sits on one of the points and shoots at stuff.

For the rest of the list, the MoK CSM with no upgrades doesn't make much sense. If you dropped the rhino, you'd have points left over to upgrade those 9 CSM into 9 berzerkers, who will do exactly what that squad does, but will do it better. In order to pull that off, you would need to give the chaos lord MoK, but you should probably do that anyways, as then you'd gain access to the axe of blind fury.

With a tiny bit of re-writing, your khorne-themed foot list could be...

Lord - MoK, Sigil, Axe of Blind Fury

8x berzerkers, IoW, champ with power axe
10x CSM, 2x plasma guns

... which gets that IoW in there, and gives you access to army-wide fearless, and gives you berzerkers, which are better than no-bolter MoK CSM. And the axe of blind fury is WAY better than the murder sword. I guess it's closer because we're talking about low-point games here, but still, you're pretty much proofed now if your opponent brings terminators or a monstrous creature, which is possible even at this points level.

Had 3 points to spare so I chucked a Chainaxe in there.

Is the Icon of Wrath worth the points seeing as I already have furious charge???
