Hey guys. I'm putting together a 4,500pts Ork army to team up with necrons against eldar/space wolves/dark angels.

I've basically thrown in everything that I have, but i'm thinking of getting a stompa to add... but i've gotta free up 700 points from somewhere. any thoughts?

Well, in footslogging 30 man ork squads, I'd drop the PK and BP and nob altogether. That saves a good chunk of points. They are useless in footslogging units because they won't always get there. Are those mobs full of shootas? Or slugga choppa? They should be shootas if you're walking. Next, I'd drop the walkers entirely. Killa kans and deff dreads are not so hot in 6th and will probably never see combat.

Are the nobz going in a BW? If not, I'd drop them too, for the same reason. Walking melee orks are certain to be underwhelming.

Saying those things, and just sorta guessing at points, that drops about 650 pts if you lost the nobz in boyz mobs, the nobz squad, and the walkers. The other fifty points could come from small things, like removing some war gear like the zzap gun on the BW and other things.

Just my thoughts. I don't really know how the SW/DA/Eldar are going to combo up on you, but I imagine it will be a tough fight.

as for the list, run the boyz as a greentide formation.

the stompa is quite some points so perhaps one group of boys..

the deffdread (only best taken with dreadmob)
the killa kanz,
the flash gitz
the stormboyz as only 8 wont do anything.
giving you 879 points enough to bring a stompa with some extra supa rokkits and add points to something else.

As for a extra note, posting invidual point cost (for example for bosspole x etc) is against the terms of use on this forum (GW copyright stuff)

yeah the nobz and gaz are going in the battlewagon

the boyz are all shoota boyz

I know the other team are gonna drop in gakloads of terminators at the back (wolves in drop pods and deathwing as teleport) so i wanted something tough at the back to take them out (hence the walkers)

flash gitz and stormboyz will probably go tho.

I guess dropping the nobz equipment in the mobs. is it worth dropping the nob himself?

so, ditching the pk & bp, dropping one mob, ditcing the gitz, stormboyz, dread and grots and one of the trukks i'm down to 3603pts... kinda also gives me room for the bomma

Sadly, almost everything in the list is kind of lackluster. If your winning with this you must be one hell of a player

How are you getting those trukks? You can only take them with <12 man boyz mobs unless theres some apocalypse rule or something I've missed

there isn't much else in the ork codex :S

a squad can take one as dedicated transport but they're not using them (having the tankbustas and burna boys in them). I don't know if that's completely out of the codex but house rules would allow it in any case.

Bear in mind that the other 4,500 of my team is necrons with a vault, a few fliers and a c'tan on his own (whatever they call that).

Today i've picked up a dakkajet to add.

I'm currently undefeated against wolves/dark angels in 2,000pts battles which is essentially 2x30 boyz, SAG, Warboss, nobz, trukk, looted wagon, deff dread and lootas.

Plus - this game is more about fun and carnage than about winning - hence the SAG, lifta-droppa, 5 looted wagons and zogwort.

Either way, i can't really afford to buy anything else before the game aside from a stompa, so i'm kinda stuck with what I have, just need to figure out what i can ditch

I would drop the lifta droppa wagon if possible, the flash gits, deffdread and the stormboyz. That should save you about 650 points, enough for the Stompa and shouldnt handicap the rest of the army/tactics too much.
Chop off a few expensive wargear items for the extra 50 points.

The flashgits are incredibly expensive, the stormboys limited in their use with only 8 and in Apoc, literally anything on the table can nuke them and the droppa wagon is quite expensive too imo albeit fun.
The one DD isnt going to do very much and you have some killa kans anyway for busting open tanks etc.

The way you have the 30 man boyz squads... should be 235.

What's the mega-armored warboss supposed to go with? Are your Nobz Mega-armored?

Only a 12man boyz squad or a nob squad can take the trukk. You want tose Tankbustas & Burnas in wagons anyway.

Where's your KFFs to help give those walkers/troops a chance to get close to the enemy??

Make those Deffkoptas singles.... otherwise a few casualties could make them flee.

single deffcoptas is a great idea. that warboss was going with a second squad of nobz i had. Guess he's just on his own now - could drop him too i guess.

as for the burnas in a wagon, i even made them a special hot-rodded wagon with a flame job

A lot of this stuff i wanna use cus it's cool, not because it's useful.

the lifta-wagon is DEFFO staying!! That's the reason this entire game was started

Drop a unit of Boyz then.
30 foot slogging str4 shootas probably wont be a game changer in an Apoc setting. You can then keep the Lifta and squeeze in the Stompa.
Hell, drop a unit of Shootas to 25 and they can go IN the Stompa

yeah you can't throw land raiders at devastator squads anymore, but it's still smashy-smashy. And that's what playing orks is about right?

am also looking forward to turning arjac rockfist into a squig.
