The one thing I am sure is I want to make them Deathwatch, using a different chapter for each Marine, hopefully not having to repeat.

I'm not a fan of Special Characters, since I feel they would only appear in really big battles.

I am leading towards either Ultramarines or Imperial Fists.

Considering the Black Library has had them up to chapter size on occasion, I would say you can run any size you would liek, but yes in general I think having made them an elite or HQ squad option would have been awesome. One thing I would want to see on a squad of deathwatch would be WS 5. Honestly they should be ws 5 because they are elite warriors chosen from across all chapters.
