Translucent skin, however, has quite a bit more to it. The desired skin color, if there is a tint to it, as well as what you assume to be underneath will greatly impact your method and color choices. Generally, though, basing in a very pale color (even pure white) and tinting the surface with glazes and washes is the easiest way to go about it.

Dripping goo is another matter, entirely, that has been covered in a number of tutorials. Methods include CA glue drops on fishing line or a hair, stringy school glues (UHU) mixed with ink, water effects or hot glue tinted by inks/washes, melted blobs of colored acrylic... the list goes on.
