White Scar colours

I know this is more of a painting question but people interested in the 40k background are more likely to know the answer.
I'm planning on a White Scars space marine army (Kor'sarrow Khan and 3rd company) but am unsure what the correct colour is for the trim on their pauldrons (shoulder pads). I have seen several pictures of red trim (for third company presumably) but also several with plain white trim matching the rest of their armour, I have wandered if White Scars have different trim for different types of squad (like the Raven guard).
Anyway was just hoping somebody might have a good answer.

Colour coding things like pauldron trim and kneepads is a Codex Astartes standard solution. I would imagine that the "official" white scars paint scheme also includes such things. However whether you actually paint them that way or not is up to you

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Colour coding things like pauldron trim and kneepads is a Codex Astartes standard solution.
You most usually see marine chapters painted with the pauldron trim matching the aquilla colour on their chestplate, eg its rare to see Ultramarines pained with anything other than gold pauldron trim, even though that only marks the second company. For the WS I imagine its pretty similar, I would imagine red trim is the 3rd company colour but its totally up to what you think looks best.

White Scar colours

Actually White Scars have rarely been depicted that way, they seem to mimic Blood Angel: Blood Angels are usually depticted either with black shoulderpad trims with a yellow or gold chest eagle, or red trims (on red pads) with a black chest eagle. The black originates with the start 1st edition, when almost all chapters were a single colour with a secondary colour used for the helmet stripe and chapter badge. Blood Angels back then were red + black.

White Scars are similar, prior to the 6th edition rulebook they had almost always been depicted either with red trims and a yellow or gold chest eagle, or else white trims with a red chest eagle. Back in 1st edition the White Scars secondary colour was red.

Notable point: The White Scar Librarian that appeared in both the White Scars and Librarians IA article had red trim on white pad as well - and Librarians do not wear company colours.

Isnt most of the White Scars armor white with red trim? Knees, Tribal markings, stuff like that? I had thought ( just with normaly human history not 40k) the red would be an analog for blood. If they were supposed to be Hun analogs the blood would make sense?
