Tank shocking and ramming rules vs turboboost

I was playing an Apoc game yesterday and as was about to defrolla 2 squads of marines and ram the side armour of a baneblade with a battlewagon in the hopes of causing a long trail of red paste and as much carnage as possible. This required me to move the allowed 13" with red paint and turboboost another 6" to reach the Baneblade.

At this point it was pointed out tank shocks and ramming are limited to a single squad in the movement phase only.

Whilst this will be defended by many a marine player who shudders at the thought of several tonnes of thundering metal turning entire squads to toothpaste tubes. I think that from a physics based perspective, tank shocking with a defrolla should be limited purely by the whole movement range of the vehicle and be allowed in the turboost phase. If anything the defrolla should have 2D6 S10 hits in the turboboost movement phase to represent it moving faster and having a lot more power behind it.

Either way I think it's ridiculous that you cannot tank shock or ram in the turboboost phase when in reality a vehicle would be going so fast it would be harder to stop.

I do believe ramming should be an end to the attacking vehicles movement regardless of whether it absolutely destroys the target.

Secondly consider that the Ork player would then expose the BW AV10 rear armour to the squads it has overtaken so this rule would come with disadvantages to the Ork player. And in my experience the BW never lasts 2 turns anyway.

But that's my opinion. Anyone agree, or think all vehicles should be allowed to tank shock in the turbo-boost phase. I don't think this would cause the game to degenerate into a ridiculous GTA style demolition derby as the rules for standard tank shocking are pretty tame and heavy armed vehicles would not be worth sacrificing the ranged attacks when a squad could negate any damage (Which isn't even that bad anyway) by passing a leadership test. Also why would you expose a heavy vehicles rear armour for such a small gain.

But in practice if you did want to turboboost ram or tank shock you should be allowed in my opinion.

Tank shocking and ramming rules vs turboboost

Wait, they changed that? It used to be that you could Ram/Tank Shock anything and everything within your range- the only thing that stops it is if the vehicle you're ramming doesn't blow up out of the way, or the enemy troops manage the 'glory' part of Death or Glory.
