I wanted to give you a brief review of my experience with the Caliban Green spray for my 60 infantry models this week.

Introduction:

I have been in the process of building a DA army of around 4,000 points for the last 6 months. This army is a combined force army that includes lots of Ravenwing and Deathwing with a large supporting TAC, new plastic Sternguard as Vets, and Devastators. I'm not a fan of the Dark Angel Green Army painter product just because I haven't figured out how to spray it very well. I also wanted to be a completist with an all Citadel paint product testing and painting for this army. (Don't ask it's the OCD in me.) Anyway, for this spray I bought two discounted cans of Caliban Green and two discounted cans of Chaos Black primer. Both were sprayed at 80F with low relative humidity (25% or less).

Priming:

I tested one figure with straight Caliban Green spray on plastic, and I found that it not only coated extremely well, but it also was difficult to scrape or SimpleGreen off. Unlike other reviews of the Mephiston spray, I found that had I wanted to go straight to plastic I would have save the color being slightly lighter than I wanted. I primed two light coats, then coated two very light coats of the Caliban Green.

Painting:

The new spray was very forgiving and really coated well over the black primer. Thin coats worked like a dream.

Price:

I paid $13 per can which is expensive, however, it was really a joy to use and the color is just right for my airbrushed Citadel paint Dark Vengeance tac squad.

Overall:
