				<description><![CDATA[ I've been trying to find a unique new way to look at <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(305);'>GK</span>'s to make them more competitive without allies. They have ok shooting for weak models, but generally is going to get out shot. In <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span> however they are generally better, thanks to their anti-deamon origins and universal <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(486);'>PW</span>'s. So I've tried to build a list here that focus's more on getting in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span> and only has a little shooting.<br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span><br /> 275 - Draigo<br /> <br /> Elite<br /> 344 - Purifier - 10 Models, Stave, 2x Psycannon, 3x Hammers, 2x Halberd, 2x Sword, Rhino<br /> <br /> Troop<br /> 300 - Paladin - 5 Models, Banner, Sword, Halberd, 2x Hammers<br /> 55 - Solodin w/Hammer<br /> 55 - Solodin w/Hammer<br /> <br /> Heavy Support<br /> 255 - <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(87);'>LR</span> Redeemer w/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span><br /> 260 - Dreadknight w/PT, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(604);'>HI</span>, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(47);'>GS</span><br /> <br /> Fast Attack<br /> 205 - Storm Raven w/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(126);'>TL</span> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span> & <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(126);'>TL</span> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LC</span><br /> <br /> <br /> Purifier split into SR and Rhino (Rhino 2 Psy, Hammer, Sword, Halberd). Paladin in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(475);'>LRR</span>. Otherwise basic normalness.<br /> <br /> This gives me some flexibility as to where to deploy, switching Purifier and Paladin deployment vehicle as needed depending on the enemy. Some fire to take out fast movement and flyers. Also some shooting to crack open vehicles to assault the weaklings inside. Otherwise, just let the fists (or various Nemesis weapons) do the heavy lifting.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I can't suggest what to take different but I would destroy this list with my orks, I'd Field like 100 shoota boyz and 45 lootas, youd be pretty dead b4 you get to me, except landraider, but I dont care about that that much]]></description>

I would put split purifiers in there for max cleansing flame asap. With the dread taking out a some lootas in the first turn shunt would make it more difficult to take out the raven, getting the Paladins in to do damage (assuming he survives if orks go first). The Rhino would be useless here, maybe a shield to stop assaulting or shooting a unit a little later.<br /> <br /> The solodins here would actually help, with their S5 LBlast, or wasting shots against it not going after the more threatening units. Also soak up Overwatch for the Purifiers. They would likely make back their points twice over by the end of the game.<br /> <br /> It would be an interesting battle, but unless you run a purifier spam list that's kind of always a fair strategy against <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(305);'>GK</span>'s, drown them in bodies.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Firstly I disagree that <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(305);'>GK</span> are poor at shooting, in 5th they were the best shooting army in the game (trust me my Purifier army used to love a shooting match with Guard). However 6th Ed has hurt them bad in that respect.<br /> <br /> If you want to do combat Grey Knights my advice is still take a Psycannon on everyone that can. Triple Dreadknight should be your starting point. Then deliver by SR giving you <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(805);'>AA</span> but no board presence other than the Knights.<br /> <br /> Swords are pointless on Purifiers get Halberds for only 2 points. Likewise even on Paladins Swords are pointless Halberds are the way forward with a few hammers for AP2. Only take Purifiers or Paladins don't mix and match. Purifiers will need SR support or Helldrakes will ruin your day.<br /> <br /> Banner is not worth it unless your squad is 10men. Lascannon is an inferior weapon to an assault cannon against everything from tanks to infantry. Don't take the lascannon on the Storm Raven.<br /> <br /> Hope this helps.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Ok, fair point. They're not that 'bad', others just get more shooting for less points, depending on what you're shooting at. Sadly other than Paladins they don't get extra survivability either.<br /> <br /> Interesting idea on having 3 dreads. Spendy for sure, but they don't all need PT and Inc.<br /> <br /> Swords on purfier was for saving some points and have some 'cannon folder' guys. Swords help when not having a stave for termies, that's why I only have 1 though.<br /> <br /> The banner with 5 is questionable.You do get 2 extra hammer attacks, which make up for it not having a hammer, then added other attacks and auto pass <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(269);'>ID</span> against Tyranid, that's still not bad for 25 points. It certainly is worth more in larger squads.<br /> <br /> You do make some good points. Hopefully we can find a good avenue for effective points both survival and damage dealing.]]></description>

You are of course VERY low model count. But trip Dreadknights are tough with Draigo and his buddies coming in via SR the SR should dominate the skies with that load out. 				<description><![CDATA[ I think that any "competitive" <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(305);'>GK</span> list should have strength in both the shooting and the assault phase.  What makes <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(305);'>GK</span> so powerful is that flexibility with all of their units.<br /> <br /> <br /> If you are up against a dedicated combat army,  your <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(305);'>GK</span> units have mobile shooting at 24".  This lets you stay well out of assault range, while putting out good firepower and backing away from the horde of combat monsters.  After you wear down all of their combat units to the point where they are not effective, then you storm the middle of the board and take objectives.<br /> <br /> If you are up against a Shooty Army your <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(305);'>GK</span> units have the assault power to take the fight to the enemy.  You can even take a few pot shots with your guns to take out prioity targets, or run behind cover as needed.<br /> <br /> <br /> Personally, I feel that a combat based <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(305);'>GK</span> army will not be able to out fight another combat based army.<br /> Similarly, I feel that a Shooting based <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(305);'>GK</span> army will not be able to out shoot a shooty army.<br /> <br /> <br /> Going all in on one option or the other will give you some bad matchups.<br /> If you know that your metagame is all shooting armies, then your Combat Focused <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(305);'>GK</span> will work okay, but I think that your list will get out fought by another Combat Based list.<br /> <br /> <br /> I think that you should include some amount of shooting power in your list, rather than going all in on combat.  <br /> simply dropping some of the save and trading them for more psycannons will give your list a lot more power in the shooting phase.<br /> Rather than relying on the stave to carry you through a difficult combat, you can use your increased shooting power to weaken a strong combat unit to the point where it is no longer a threat.]]></description>
