				<description><![CDATA[ I've had guard awhile but only recently decided to pick them back up. 				<title>1250 Guard - New to the army</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ I would drop the storm troopers, I don't like them, vets give you the same thing for cheaper and you get more models.<br /> it can also free up some points for creed or straken, creed is nice if you like to have 3 shots per units (in rapid fire range) for your vet squads. straken has 2 orders per turn but can wreck lots of things in melee, (except hordes) if you are going to bring a manticore take two, that one will get drop podded melta to death or some form thereof.  drop a vet squad for a heavy wep team with lasguns maybe. sort of new myself but I have seen lots of <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span> battles. ]]></description>

Creed cannot give orders to guys embarked in transports so Creed isnt any use.  Hes also very expensive is a 1250 list and so is straken.  Straken is melee oriented and his buffs are only really good if you are running assault guard which is usually blobs.<br /> <br /> Also what do you mean 4 shots per unit??? are you talking about giving <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(371);'>frfsrf</span> to guardsmen which only gives them ONE more lasgun shot, meaning 2 shots in rapid fire +1 for the order which means 3 in total.  now from 11-24 inches that means 1 shot standard plus one from the order which means 2 in total.<br /> <br /> I feel the list has a great start, those 2 special characters mentioned bring nothing for your list and are too expensive at this point level let alone they dont benefit this type of list in any way.<br /> <br /> I would suggest dropping camo netting and try getting a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> with all plasma, drop the power axe if needed and the flamer.  Plasma is very good this edition so if needed drop some demolitions.  The range is very important too, because as of right now your list is very short range which means it will really struggle against most lists.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ well the guy at my place has been doing it wrong then, where does it say that he cant issue orders to troops in transports so I can point it out?  also,I would not really call this a mech list, as most of his firepower is in infantry. and sorry the 4 was a typo. also, I would hesitate for the plasma as a few unlucky rolls and you not only wasted points on paying for the weapons but lost points as one of your models just killed himself. <br /> <br /> I am a fan of flamers and meltas though as I have incredible bad luck with plasma weapons.  <br /> <br /> also I would drop the demolitions completely anyway. you have decent AI and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(9);'>AV</span>, If you want spend it on uping your vets to grenadiers so they at least get armor vs most other troops choices and some elites. or you can spend that on another manticore w/out the camo net. <br /> <br /> also forgot to mention but I am a huge fan of marbo <img src="/s/i/a/6d3c0a908a3861135dfaebde91c0ecf6.gif" border="0">]]></description>

I'm not a fan of plasma myself (I've had 6/6 plasma gunner marines kill themselves in one game :/). <br /> <br /> Drop Demolitions and Stormtroopers. 				<description><![CDATA[ Give your <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> x4 Plasma Guns and upgrade a couple of your Veteran Squads with Plasma instead of Meltaguns. Guardsmen aren't Space Marines. They're SUPPOSED to be expendable. If someone blows up, by god they did it for the Emperor. Your list is overall lacking against <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(95);'>MEQ</span> and they should help solve that]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ if you drop all the demolitions from the vets it saves you 120 points, (grenadier removes this)and 105 from the storm troopers would give you 105 I think. ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ @blood raven: That list is a little lacking in the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> department, Marbo is only elites.<br /> <br /> I tend not to use him much, as, like most of the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span> elites, he's not that brilliant, sure, the turn he arrives, he can blow some s*** up, but chances are, he won't make it to combat, where he is best. Also, his demo charge can scatter back towards him, blowing himself up. With deep striking, his usual proximity to the enemy, and lacking a squad of bodies to hide behind, he's a kill point you pretty much just give to the enemy. ]]></description>
