New Space Marine Ally Idea for I.G. - 550 Points.

Greetings everyone.

Just tossing out an idea for allies with I.G. using the new space marine codex. These models will be assembled and painted as a Deathwatch force so I can kinda try out different chapter tactics (No special characters or anything) and see which ones I like most. Right now, as I have them, Iron Hand chapter tactics seem to be the best bet, but obviously there may be others such as Imperial Fist that work just as well if not better.

That said, here's the allied force. Thoughts and input greatly appreciated.

HQ: Librarian (Mastery Level 1) - 100 Points (Rides with the Tactical Squad)
Psychic hood, Terminator Armor, Force Weapon & Storm Shield.

Troops: Tactical Squad -124 Points
4x Bolter Marines, 1x Plasma Gun Marine, 1x Veteran Sgt. with Meltabombs, Bolter and Power Weapon (Axe)
Squad wide frag & krak grenades
- Drop Pod Transport - 35 Points

Elite: Sternguard Veteran Squad - 255 Points
9x Bolter Marines, 1x Sergeant w/ Powerfist & Bolter
Squad wide special issue ammunition, frag & krak grenades
- Drop Pod Transport - 35 Points

That totals up to 549 points. The Guard list I run is somewhat defensive but has some strike force elements that I can bring to bear. The idea is to drop the Stern Guard turn one on a flank where they can really be a pain in the posterior to my opponent. Basically put pressure on a flank. The next turn the Tactical squad and Librarian land close by and add their firepower to the fray, supported by the Librarian. (Astropath in my I.G. CCS making my reserve rolls a 2+ helps this happen more often than not). The Librarian will be rolling on the Biomancy table first, and depending on what I get, and my opponent, will determine what other table I choose to roll on.

I've yet to playtest this concept as yet, but feel like it could be a lot of fun. I'm not beholden to keeping the powerfist on the Veteran Sgt. in the Sternguard squad, and may drop that and the meltabombs off the tactical squad sergeant to put a trio of combi-meltas in the Sternguard unit, but I like the thought of having a powerfist in the mix to help deal with high toughness critters that may not go down to a single volley from the Sternguard after they hit. We'll see, of course.

All input and thoughts greatly appreciated as always.

Thanks for looking and take it easy everyone.

-Red__Thirst-

Edit: Spelling errors are awesome.
