Rusty Necrons for begginers?

Ok, I love the whole aesthetic of rust, ancient egypt and orange, so rusty necrons seem like a good choice.
However my hands are incredibly shaky (i mainly got into this hobby to try and improve it) so fine detail painting is hard for me.
With all that said, will any of you fine fellows give me tips how to paint my crons a deeeeep rust colour?
I'm thinking a basecoat of black, followed by some red/black mixture and then....
Yeah.
Help please!

To clarify, I'm looking for a way to make them look like this

1. Prime your necrons black.

2. Basecoat your necrons in some dark metallic like boltgun.

3. Slather your necrons in this stuff http://www.thewarstore.com/product56392.html mixed with a little water.

4. Throw a thin black wash in the crevices.

5. Give it a matte spray.

6. Paint the eyes and glue all the clear green plastic tubes in.

7.
I would use Halford's red oxide primer as primer & base coat.
Then get some light or mid rust from MIG, mix with a little white spirit then wash the model.
Once dry varnish with purity seal to set the pigments in place.
Finally do a light drybrush of boltgun metal (or whatever it's called now).
Here's what I achieved with multiple layers or pigments over the red oxide primer (the only 'paint' used was the metallic):

- Spray Models Black

- Paint entire model in Dark Flesh (if old) / Doombull Brown (If new)

-Drybrush on some Vermin Brown (If old) / Skrag Brown (If new)

- Drybrush stipple Blazing Orange (If old) / Troll Slayer Orange (If new)

This should make the model look very weathered and rusted. After this, dry brush on to your liking Boltgun Metal (If old) / Leadbelcher (If new).

I have used this technique ever since the tutorial in the last Ogre Army Book where they still did painting techniques for free, instead of making you pay for them.
