White Scars successors

Hey all, sorry this is not quite a completed army list. I am building a White Scars successor chapter, and I was just gonna tell you what I have, and ask for some advice on...

a) how to load them out (plasma guns, grav guns, etc)? I am going to magnetize, but just need some suggestions.
b) where should I go from here (more bikes, etc. etc.)? I really like Vindicators for HS, and I will probably take 2-3. I also know I need anti-Flyer, but I'm not sure what to take.

Ultimately, I would like to build a roughly 2000 point army.

Okay, here's the list:

HQ
Kor'sarro on bike
Chaplain on bike
Command Squad on bikes (Company Standard, Apothecary, Champion)

Troops
Bikers (5-7)
Bikers (5-7)
Tac Squad (6-10), Razorback
Tac Squad (6-10), Razorback

I'm gonna magnetize everything that I possibly can, so I'm not too worried about getting it perfect the first time. That being said... I was thinking Grav Guns/MM on one bike squad (elite hunter), Plasma/HB on the other (bawks hunter). TL AC on the Razorbacks almost definitely (the new pricing on the RB makes them a lot more economical,, and I just love ACs).

Oh, and I have some Attack Bikes, as you may have figured from the MM/HB in the Bike squads. Should I make them FA or put them in the Bike squads?

Also, what's a good loadout for the Command Squad? I'm obviously trying to make a Deathstar. I know Khan isn't the best for that. Should I consider playing a Chapter Master instead? Is a Deathstar even practical?

Well first off..... you only need khan for scout. if you build your army around razorbacks and shooting, you dont need him.

If you plan on deathstar command bikes, you do need a chapter master and khan.

Chapter master /w shield eternal, artificer armor, thunder hammer, bike, and auspex.
Khan with his bike
Command squad with 4x thunder shield, 4x power fist, 4x grav gun and apothecary.

Thats the deathstar........... Proper placement of khan and chapter master to tank all the shooting coming in at you, along with the scout move and biker speed means you will get to, and kill anything you want. Hit and run means they cant bog you down with useless stuff and the grav guns are a must for dinging down flyers.

I wouldnt run this particular group in anything smaller than 1999+1 point games though.

If you are playing 2k and higher, also think about taking a techmarine/w servo harness attatched to a 3 man dev cent squad armed with grav cannons and hurricane bolters inside a land raider.

The techmarine grants the LR scout so first turn your cents are in range and melting somthing, He also adds a potential flamer or twin linked plasma to overwatch with and 3 powerfist attacks when you do get charged.

3 squads of bikers with grav guns and combi-gravs for your troops and round out the rest of the points how you like.

Perfect whitescars deathstar list.

Re:White Scars successors

Thanks! I should have clarified: I am trying to build a list consistent with the background material for a White Scars successor chapter. Bikes are good, mounted units are okay, devs and dreads are out. While the chapter possesses Terminators, they are a rare sight, as the veterans prefer to ride bikes. I don't care for the Centurion models, and while not directly addressed in the fluff, I don't think White Scars would be terribly big fans of them. I want the list to be good, really good even, but I'm not trying to make a WAAC list.

Not trying to sound snarky; I genuinely appreciate the advice.

Isn't Scout good for RBs as well?

How would you scale down the command squad for larger games? I definitely want to keep a standard bearer as an army centerpiece, and I want storm shields from a modeling perspective. What about just two grav guns and two THs? I only have the chaplain for now because I bought a Reclusiam command squad and am temporarily limited for models (I've committed to only buy more models after the current models are painted).

If for example you wanted to run a white scars list without khan, then a chaplain isnt a bad replacement for him.

Chaplain/w bike, and auspex for upgrades is cheap and brings alot of whallop.

in smaller games change the command squad to somthing like this:

apothecary, 4x storm shields, 4x grav guns, 4x power axe's
captain/w bike, shield, relic blade, auspex.
chaplain/w bike, auspex, bolt pistol, crozius arcanum

this runs about 145 points cheaper and gives you 28 reroll to hit attacks on the charge all with ap4 or better. along with the 7 str 5 impact hits you can mow down most anything.

Just be wary of assaulting the entire squad at single characters as they will just challange and waste all your attacks.

Scouting in your RB's isnt a needed. Basically the only time i'd want to scout my RB's up is if i armed them with twin linked heavy flamers and needed them in my opponents backline FAST. Otherwise i'd like to keep them at max weapons range and behind cover shooting stuff until turn 5 or 6 when id move onto objectives.

Re:White Scars successors

Nice. What about the idea of Vindicators? I was thinking Vindicators for HS. The bike squads should be able to provide me with excellent special weapon support - I can tailor squads to take out specific threats like tanks, heavy infantry, etc. But Vindicators have a nice all-purpose gun.

Also, what about Stormtalons? On the other hand, I might go with a Stormraven with an Assault Squad or Vanguard squad, possibly with an attached IC (instead of a second character in the Command Squad). Any thoughts on this? Stormtalons to steal air superiority and harass non-fliers, or Stormraven with assault squad to draw the attention of enemy fliers so my bikes can do their job?
