Dark Eldar @ 500 points, escalation league starting

I going to be starting an escalation league in November, and I'm using the opportunity to get back into playing DE. The fist month is 500 points on a 4x4 table, FOC modified to HQ optional and 1+ troop choice. This is the list I'm thinking of running:

Troops: Kabalite Warriors 100 pts
Splinter Cannon x1

Fast Attack: 2 Beastmasters, 69 pts
3 Razorwing Flocks

Elite: 3 Kabalite Trueborn, 59 pts
Splinter Cannon x2, Plasma grenades (had 3 points to spend)

Elite: 3 Kabalite Trueborn, 56 pts
Splinter Cannon x2

Heavy Support: 1 Ravager, 110 pts
1 Disintegrator, 2 Dark Lances

Heavy Support: 1 Ravager, 105 pts
1 Disintegrator, 2 Dark Lances

Total Roster Cost: 499

Would really appreciate feedback. Thanks.

All wrong dude.

Dark Eldar should never use footslogging units as you are too squishy. Beastmasters don't count though as they are pretty fast.

Don't mix the guns on the ravagers. Also they need flickerfields.

2 of those would be 230 pts giving you 270 left. With that I would get a 5 man warrior squad in a venom and probably another venom or raider with blasterborn or wracks.

Can say I really agree with your recommendations. Do you play many 500 point games?

It's a very different game at 500 points. 10 warriors is more resilient than a venom...

Mixed weapons is not something I would do in larger games, but in smaller games AT is centralized and easier to be focus fired and removed.

At 500 points mixed weapons are useful because you do not have the redundancy of 1750 or 2k.

Have a think and write back if you want.

In my opinion then, I'd go all infantry, your opponents will be spending at least 100 points on AT and if you have only infantry you render those points fairly useless. Footslogging is not a typical DE strategy but their vehicles are (can be) far more squishy than the infantry imo, I've had a venom survive 9 lascannon shots and I've had raiders taken down by a 10 bolter shots but DE warriors are basically the same all the time in terms of survivability. t3 and crappy armour but good ws,bs and I and access to fnp, good weapons and assault grenades. I've had them survive bolter barrages due to fnp and kill space marines in cc and they slaughter IG infantry in cc or shooting.

I'd do something like this:

Elite: 3 Kabalite Trueborn, 56 pts
Dark Lance x1
Elite: 3 Kabalite Trueborn, 56 pts
Dark lance x1
Elite: 3 Kabalite Trueborn, 56 pts
Dark Lance x1

Troops: 9 warriors 105pts
blaster x1
Troops: 9 warriors 105pts
blaster x1
Troops: 10 warriors, 140pts
1x splinter cannon, 1x shredder, Sergeant w/venom blade, plasma grenades

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Put the true born in the back in three separate ruins or pieces of cover (if available) and snipe at enemy tanks, MCs, or characters (this also works well against terminators.) Then advance down the middle with the 10 warrior squad, keep them in cover when possible and charge infantry where possible, you can fire 5 splinter shots (cannon + pistol) and a str6 blast before charging plus you can throw a plasma grenade for a str4 ap4 pinning blast and you have assault grenades, furthermore you are putting out 18 str3 I5 attacks at ws4 and the sergeant will put out 4 2+ poisoned attacks. You should even be abe to kill a tactical squad in close combat. Use them as the core of your anti infantry and support them with the two squads of 9 advancing on either flank, blast any vehicle that gets to close and keep in cover.

Re:Dark Eldar @ 500 points, escalation league starting

I personally like the flexibility of the ravagers with one disintegrator each. They can put couple of wounds on MEQs and TEQs with ease.

I'm not a fan of 2 Trueborn Squads with Splinter Cannons since you only get bucketloads of shots only if you're sitting behing a cover.

I'm not sure on what rules you play the games, I'm assuming every unit can grab objectives. If so, I could potentially give one of the Trueborns Shardcarbines and haywires putting them at 57 points (and using that 1 point you have left) and play them a bit more offensive while the Kabbies and the Splintercannons support them. But that's only a possibility, this setup is much more safe I have to admit.

If he's going to footslog it might be worth investing in a couple of haemo for fnp. You could also use some scourges with 2 splinter cannons and shardcarbines if you want decent dakka, mobility and some better saves.

Dissie ravagers are good in low point games, 9 ap2 s5 shots at 36" is nothing to sniff at.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Well I stuck a list together I personally would run. Dunno what you will think of it.

1 haemo, hexrifle, poison blade
20 warriors, 2 splinter cannons
Dissie rav, ff
Lance rav, ff

Plenty of bodies, plenty of dakka, fnp.

Only issue you would have is cc. But if anything gets close enough to survive 36 rifle shots rapid fire, 12 cannon shots, 3 lances, 9 dissie and a hexrifle id be amazed...
