At last, I decided to spend some time on my birthday gift from...2012

I try some different method with lot of differents paint brands.

The primer is a red spray from Army Painters.

Then, airbrush shading on egdes and recesses with Tamiya's Red Brown mixed with some Tamiya's Flat Black.

Highlighting the center of the flat panels with a mix of Tamiya's Sand Brown and Flat Yellow (airbrush).

Then, Citadel Mephiston Red diluted with Tamiya's Acrylic Thinner for the main colour.

Gloss varnish airbrushed (Gunze).

Then a heavy wash with Van Dyke Brown diluted with Zippo lighter fuel. The excess of wash is cleaned with paper soaked with cellulose thinner. It's not really clear on the pics, but it gives some effect like rain had been pouring down leaving strains on the armor!.

Next part for this weekend, painting details, drybrushing, and then weathering with pigments.
