Explaining my multi mono god army

I play a 100% nurgle themes army but using rules for other gods units by converting them to be nurgly (e.g. pusthirster of nurgle). I came up with a story for how it happened, but how plausible is this on the 40k universe?

On the swamp planet of Thalmor a portal later known as the Rift of Gath opened, and spilt onto the planet all manor of hellish creatures made for shredding fleshy, spilling blood and spreading disease. Yet they were not alone on this planet for ultramarines too resided here, and met the daemons with valour and with seas of blue armour occupied the beasts for months on end as they would ever replenish their count from the warp. This slow war of attrition got into the head's of the fighters, the death of their own leasing to despair, Nurgle's power waxed in this environment, as his presence not only in demonic form but also in the mind of every enemy became ever more tangible. After months of never ending fighting Nurgle found his influence of the thoughts of the company's chapter master grew. The master knew this, he knew he should have taken his own life as soon as he became compromised, but he was sick, a malaise of his conscience made him keep on and resist that which he had to do. As the pustules multiplied across his sore flesh he began to lose control over his thoughts then words then actions until he because a puppet and plaything of Nurgle, he used the captain to operate a price of experiment technology located on Thalmor, usually strictly forbidden to use. The warp stitcher was a huge fortification flowing with blue energy, and used to limit the psychic connection between daemons and their god's through the warp, Nurgle could use this to cut off his rival God's from their daemons on Thalmor whilst his presence endured via the mind of corrupted men he held. The experimental technology did as originally feared and emitted an electro magnetic wave disabling all technology in the nearest light minute, this meant every soldier in power armour was trapped inside, unable to move and led to die. Whilst this energy surge was used by Nurgle to finally turn the minds he corrupted, ten or so of the men erupted in pustules and slime and clawed out of their armour as they morphed into Plaguebearers, and the master into a larger even more spectacularly gruesome herald. With this advantage the still controlled Nurgle daemons turned on the other God's daemons whilst their targets lacked any direction and order now their psychic link was destroyed, this too meant they were unable to return tot he warp, as Nurgle fought their targets who could not die instead of them disappearing they just became more and more infected and succumbing to the only psychic presence they eventually all began to join the Nurgle daemons, pink horrors became duller and their fire becoming ooze, the bloodthirster growing as its muscular torso became one of rot and protecting flesh. Theo army now entirely ruled by Nurgle now had access to sufficient imperial technology to travel from and too nearby planets wrecking havoc in their path as well as defending their conquered swap planets across the solar system from imperial and Xenos threats alike in order for this new garden of Nurgle to flourish.
