Planning out my Daemons army. Just getting back into 40k after 8 year hiatus. I have some Orks but I love the models of Daemons so I'm going to start a force of the buggers.
So these lists are based on my favourite models, not necessary how competitive they are. Don't get me wrong its not fun to always lose, but I'd rather take semi-effective models I like than the models that are super-effective but I hate the look of. For instance (I'm not sure how good they are but) I don't plan on including any of the Slaanesh models with their mounts (unless I can get my hands on those old ones). My main opponent is going to be my friend with 2500pts of Space Marines (mostly infantry and Razorbacks/drop pods) and he plans on starting Tyranids soon. Haven't been to the FLGS for games yet so no idea what the meta is like. Onto the lists:

HQ:
Herald of Khorne - 130pts
- Juggernaut
- Greater Reward
- Lesser Reward

Elite:
3x Blood Crushers - 160pts
- Blood Hunter w/ Greater Reward

OR

Fast Attack:
10x Flesh Hounds - 160pts (Vampire Counts Dire Wolves )

Can't decide whats better here. 9 wounds with Ap3 or 20 wounds with no AP and getting to start 12" closer.


Troops:
10x Plague Bearers - 105pts
- Plague Ridden w/ Lesser Reward

10x Plague Bearers - 105pts
- Plague Ridden w/ Lesser Reward


Thats 500 pts. The reason I ask for advice on 500 pts is that this will be the base for my army. I don't have a ton of cash to go buy boxes and boxes of troops so I need these guys to be the back bone for a while.



For 1000 pts I want to add:

HQ:
Daemon Prince of Nurgle - 240pts
- Warp Forged Armor
- Wings
- Greater Reward

Heavy Support:
Soul Grinder - 180pts
- Mark of Nurgle
- Phlegm Bombardment

Thats a total of 920pts. From here I'm not really sure what to do. I can lose the Plague Ridden and add another squad of Lesser Daemons. And/or I could lose the Herald of Khorne and have upwards of 160pts to play with. I wouldn't mind painting pink horrors or screamers either. A second Soul Grinder also gets my heart pumping. So many choices! Any suggestions?

Just another thing, I should buy a Herald and another box of lesser daemons to account for warp storm table rolls. Tzeench herald and Daemonettes a good choice for that?


So any opinions on what I have so far?
