Which is considered more effective - Tau or Space Wolves?

I haven't played the game in a long time and I was wondering if Tau's 6th edition codex had made them playable in the current meta and if they were on the same power level as other races from 6th ed or even 5th ed (I can't imagine they would be able to beat imperial guard easily). I currently already own space wolves so I'm not sure if it'd be worth buying another army if it's not as strong as them.

I am biased, but i would say Tau are a more powerful army, but then, Tau Generals have been forced over time to become extremely good to win, and I think now that they have a decent codex, that skill is being allowed to really shine. And the changes weren't that great. Points were just so far off line for so long that we were playing at a 250-500 point deficit all the time before, and now we're not.

Space Wolves are one of the better armies for taking out Tau though. I have felt the pawprint of a Space Wolf on my neck a few times and am convinced that it is one of the better forces to take a Tau out and blister his behind.

the reason Tau seem better (slightly) to me is that they are UBER mobile.
