Last summer at "Desafío Wargames" a wargaming convention in Zaragoza (Spain) the folk from Tale of War, dared us to make a scratch table for their game Tale Revision.
Tale Revision is a game set in the fairy tale world. You know, Goldilocks, Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood and so on.
We thought about it and we came up with some really cool ideas, and being the tables size easy enough to work with, we decided to accept the challenge!

A game for two players, one player chooses a corner of the table to play from and the other player will play from the opposite corner. Each player must place a book on his or her corner.
Different types of books have different effects on the game (history books, science, novels... etc). All miniatures must start on this book, and life and magic points are restored on this book. Obviously the aim is to destroy your opponents book.

This said, we had to create enough space on all four corners in order for a book to be placed and make them a distinguishable element also.
Te original idea for the table was to create two sides, a happy side as to say, and a darker, creepier one. So we decided to make a giant beanstalk in the middle of the table, and make it the highest point of it, and as if it would have parted the land in two, therefore creating the two different sides.
All table has been made, carved and sculped from scratch. (Except train rails and toy skull)
