Here's what I've come up with so far:

2x Chaos Rhino, 104 pts. (Dozer Blade, Havoc Launcher)

Fast Attack:
Heldrake, 170 pts. (Baleflamer)
3x Chaos Bikers, 91 pts. (MoN, VotLW)

Heavy Support:
3x Obliterators, 237 pts. (MoN, VotLW)

Fortification:
Aegis Defence Line, 100 pts. (Quad Cannon)

Current total: 1502 pts.

V1.1 Description: The Chaos Lord is a mobile CC monster immune to Smash-induced Instant Death and has a personal guard of tough Chaos Bikers. The Troops are numerous, durable, and have some AP2 weapons to deal with well-armoured targets. 2 Rhinos for the mobile squads, thanks to Havoc Launchers they can prove to be a nasty bit of cover after the delivery. I don't need to explain Heldrake; even though I have mixed feelings about this unit, it fits nicely as a Daemon Engine. Obliterators are also fluffy and should be a lot of fun; probably could split them so that each can act on his own. With the two upgrades, they should be able to stay alive longer. The ADL is here to provide cover for the IW squad that fires the Quad Cannon at flying gak.

You have a mid-short range army with no real way to get there. MoN on all the CSM who don't really need it but none for the Oblits who desperately need it. Then your Warlord on his own asking to give up FB and STW from the off. A unit of broadsides should comfortably kill him without even needing ML support for instance.

Drop 2 squads of troops. Drop the plasma pistols down to combi plasmas cheaper and twice the damage when in 12".

Get MoN on the oblits and get a 2nd unit. If you want Iron Warriors theme get a Forgefiend and rhinos for the squads. Swap the HQ for a Sorcerer or Daemon Prince. If the former givehim a burning brand and a special weapon spam Chosen squad in a rhino. First, this list doesn't have to be ultra-competitive, so some of the choices I made were due to personal appeal rather than WAAC. However, I'm obviously willing to make some adjustments here and there to make it slightly better.

Second, I LOVE Troops, that's why I got so many in here. Still, dropping that 4th squad would allow me to take some much more needed things.

I'm gonna adjust the list in a moment. Also, I've been considering Forgefiend(s), for instance when expanding the list to 1850 pts.
