I've heard really good things and I want to run post civil war land skirmishes but use regulars - ex civil war vets versus Indians and other skirmish style bandits..

I'd love a 28mm Joseph Brandt though for revolutionary war skirmish. While they can handle skirmish games, the linear tactics implied in the support rules, and the way it handles cavalry in particular make it problematic for the small scale Western style games. Also you would be looking at a minimum of fifty or sixty figures a side to get the game up and running.
