I started reading the Gaunt's Ghosts omnibus and got hooked on the Imperial Guards and am interested in building a force and how to play them.

However, I'm also broke, so I plan on building a force as cheaply as possible... To that end, I figure I will poke around here some, see what others have done and learn what I can before committing.

I build models now, and have wargamed in the past, but building a set-piece army such as what 40K uses will be new to me.
