White miniatures and dirt

I am going to try a paintjob that uses lots of white and I fear my beautiful but poorly painted minis will accumulate lots of dirt and grime! If I gloss varnish them and then matt varnish them to protect the paint what is safe to clean them with that wont strip the varnish but will remove grime?

(I assume water but did not know if there was anything more effective?)

(P.S. I am sorry for the dumb question...)

If you keep them in foam they are fine just don't eat while handling them; the worst thing to befall a model is dust if you take proper care in storage or hair. I see tonnes of armies that do not use varnish that are white and they don' show anything.

I see, well dust could be a issue here in Colorado as it is very dry and dusty all the time. I was even thinking "Hmmm would it be weird to wear gloves while playing to keep them clean?"

Unless you are playing in dirt it is not an issue, just wash your hands before a tournament and during if it is such an issue. You won't have an issue if you just follow basic hygiene like a decent human being. Keep them in their transport bag and foam zipped up tight and nothing bad will happen.

A good idea for dusting them would be compressed air like they use to dust inside computers, or if you've got an air brush just use that WITHOUT PAINT IN!!!

I lived in CO and still frequently visit, and as long as you're not leaving them out, dust won't be an issue. Meaning just put them away in a foam tray/storage thing instead of leaving them laying around and you'll be good.
