Plasti-kote Stone Touch Spray Paint on minatures?

Just wondering, has anyone tried this or a similar product on any miniatures.

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=321192333480

Thinking it could be an interesting basecoat for either the Stone Hearts or Stone Gauntlet Space Marine Chapters.
Just unsure if it will be too thick, and will sacrifice too much detail for a nice stone like effect.
I think it could look especially good applied to SM Tanks.

(I have done a good bit of searching & surfing, but can't find a thread that relates to this or even an example of a colour scheme for either chapter)

Can anyone help me out please or will I just have to buy to try?
Gulp.

Cheers
Canis

It is very thick - while I have not used it on any gaming minis, I have used it on some terrain pieces, and while very cool, and able to show large details it obscures most of the details.

try going to one of the home improvement stores, and ask them if they have any samples of it, so you can see the texture yourself.

best of luck!

I use this product on most of the items I build for my Tau base on a desert world terrain set up.
Plasti-kote Stone Touch Spray Paint on minatures?

Second the advice above. I have several bottles of this and it's really meant to give a stone texture to thinks like flower vases, picture frames, etc ... the texture is way to large for miniatures. You might try out some the gw textured paints or the new crackled earth paint. You should be able to control application of those so that it goes just where you want it to.
