Tigurius and Loth for the win. (3k)

Still on with my idea of collecting a loyalist descendent army of the Thousand sons with lots of psykers. It would be a 'counts as' army and I would like it to be fluffy yet competative. So I was thinking Dual FOC Red Scorpions with Ultramarine allies, and some inquisitors thrown into the mix.
I will be using seige assault vanguard as primary so will need to take into account the seige objective.
Im going to do it as a squad by squad rundown.

Squad #1
Severin Loth
Gate of Infinity, Telekine dome, Vortex of Doom.
5 Assault Centurions with tl flamers and hurricane bolters. (Red Scorpions)
This squad will gate right to the seige objective, blast and flame anything on it and then assault in the next turn. They will have a 5++ from telekine dome and if positioned correctly Loth can tank any plasma with his 2++. When on the objective, and if they have recieved no casualties they will put out a massive overwatch of 10 flamer HITS with reroll to wound and 30 tl snap fire bolter shots. They cannot be ignored either as they will be in the opponents objective area putting out 30 tl bolter shots a turn and on the key objective. They are also TROOPS so are scoring.

Squad #2
Tigurius
Optimum powers will be prescience, perfect timing and forewarning (he has a 66% chance to get this combination)
3 Devestator centurions (ultramarines)
Omniscope.
This squad will advance in the main battle line. We are all familiar with it, it needs no explaining.

Squads #3 #4 and #5
Librarian in each (2 Red Scorpions, 1 Ultramarine)
Psychic shriek + smite
Tactical squad (all Red Scorpions)
Apothecary, seige mantlets, plasma gun, multimelta
Each marine has a 3+ rerollable save followed by a 5+ fnp save against all small arms fire. This is sickeningly durable. They have the fire output of plasma guns, multimeltas and a psychic shriek so can't be ignored. There is a lot in this list for enemy heavy weapons to fire at so they should almost always be getting their sick 3 saves.

Squad #6
Seige master (red scorpions)
Bolter, powerfist
Ordo xenos inquisitor
Rad grenades, hammerhand, force axe.
10 seige assault marines (red scorpions)
Power sword on sarge
This squad runs with the dev cents and tacticals. It is the counter assault unit. The normal marines have 3 st5 attacks on the charge, the sarge has 4 st5 ap3 attacks and accepts challenges, seige masters fist and inquisitors force axe add a bit of ompf. But best of all the opponents unit gets -1 toughness when fighting this unit. Serious assault units that would give this unit trouble would have been focused on before hand.

Squad #7
Predator squadron (either tank hunters or MC hunters due to seige master) (red scorpions)
3 predators with lascannon side sponsoons.
Attached ordo zenos inquisitor with prescience.
6 lascannon and 6 autocannon shots rerolling to hit with either tank hunter or MC hunter. Should be lethal. Inqisitor hides behind the tanks or with nearby scouts.. Deploys behind cover if avaliable.

Squad #8
Whirlwind (red scorpions)
To cheaply fill last compulsory heavy slot on dual foc, helps out with dealing with rangers, camo cloak scouts etc.

Squads #9 and #10
Scout squads (ultramarine)
5 scouts, snipers
Backfield objective holders. Compulsory troops.

Squads #11 and #12
Stormtalons (ultramarine)
Skyhammer missile launchers, tl assault cannons.
My limited AA. If losing the air war the tl preds and/or dev cents can help out.

All the psykers including the inquisitors would be 'counts as' thousand sons decendent psykers. As will all models. Fluffy feel? Competative? Its quite different from the last one I made with the same theme.
3k

So what do you think? Lots of hard as nails scoring. Not forgotten about the seige objective, but if the assault centurions get wiped then the rest of the force will be advancing to take the objective.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
All the tac squads and the seige assault squad are 10man btw. Also I can trade out the power weapon on the assault squad for lieber heresieus (or whatever its called) to give the assault squad counter assault. Not sure though...

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Oh actually scrap that - I already paid for it but forgot, so they already have counter attack!

Tigurius and Loth for the win. (3k)

Considering this is the 3rd post that hasn't got any responses that I've done discussing a loyalist themed Thousands Sons army, Im guessing people don't like the concept of lots and lots of Space Marine psykers?

Or is it the concept of a loyalist splinter of a traitor force? Because that happens in quite a few HH books. Loken, Garro, Torgaddon, random Iron Smith in short story, even a thousand son whos name I can't remember off the top of my head...

Or is it just that a lot of text in a forum of text in which people have come to discuss things in text form is just boring?

As soon as the name Tigurius or Loth is mentioned it usually gets a few responses, and I've mentioned the point limit so Im sure its not the title (In fact I intentionally gave it that title to draw people in)...
Can someone tell me why no-one seems to like loyalist thousand sons ideas?

I think it's more that its tough to comment on something you don't really know about ( I stay away from orks eldar nids because I flat out don't know what's good in an army) and when you include FW it does the same thing

First thing I can comment on though is assault centurions suck your thinking is sound but as soon as a propper CC unit (assult termies) charges them there done for take normal ones and give them grab cannons this will be far more effective

And drop whirlwind and scouts they also suck

Bit yea there is seriously a lot of FW here so that's all I can say unfortunately

ALSO if you are doing loyalist thousand sons they HAVE to be pre heresy because of the background of the thousand sons ( all but psykers were turned to dust within their armour)

Thanks for the comment! Aahhh but Magnus sent many Thousand Sons away from Prospero before the arrival of the wolves. It could be one from the fleet that left. Or a fleet that was already out crusading when the heresy kicked off. The chapter from DoW I think is rumoured to be TS decendents.
The whirlwind and the scouts are there to fill the compulsory heavy and troop slots. Yeh I agree they aren't the best, but they cover rolls for cheap that no-one else is doing (backfield objectives and ignore cover shots).
I've never run assault centurions and don't own any and im sure you know far more about how they play than me because I have never even seen them on the table top so I will take your advice into account. However with seige assault vanguard you NEED to capture the seige assault objective or you can't possibly win. Now in these list assault cents are scoring so can capture and hold an objective.
Also even if they get charged they are hitting with 11 st9 ap1 attacks hitting at initiative and Loths attacks. That should cause even termis problems, especially after having to save on average 15 wounds from overwatch. Thats around 2.5 dead termis (before the close combat attacks at initiative), even th/ss ones. I do like dev cents better and have seen first hand what they are capable of, but they are not unfortunately scoring, which really swings it for me.

Hhhmmmmm yea I see your thinking in that an unfortunately I can't say of that would work or not lol

You know a lot more than me and you seem to have the strategy sorted the only thing I can recommend is play test and use models as "counts as" with a friend

Good idea! Id got wrapped up in the idea of the project so much that I was prepared to go out and start collecting the list, but some units need play testing - especially the assault cents!
Btw my maths was for 6 assault cents - just realised id dropped one for the final list. Itd still be just ober 2 termis dead on average on the overwatch though.

Tigurius and Loth for the win. (3k)

Ahhh yes that is a very good point that had totally bypassed me. It was for their insanely amazing (non existant) overwatch that I really liked the sound of them. Without overwatch they can now be swamped my a mob of boyz or nids. This is dissapointing!
I could trade them out (and reduce the seige masters pf to a pa) for 2 units of 5 legion of the damned (ultramarine detachment) with multimelta, plasma gun and combi- grav. Let loth run with the tacs instead, casting psychic shriek/puppet master/hallucination.
Or I could get 4 units of 3 accolytes with 4 razorbacks with assault cannon and psybolts... (also dropping.sniper rifles to get this).
