				<description><![CDATA[ Sounds like a brutal melee list, but seems kinda rock-paper-scissors in that regard.  You will probably do very well against other melee lists, but if you face a long ranged army or a heavy mechanized list, you have very limited anti tank, anti air, and ranged fire in general.  I would definitely consider dropping one of the primes for a zoanthrope brood or other high <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(123);'>str</span> ranged support and dropping 1 or 2 hormagaunt squads for some flyers (if the list is intended to be somewhat all purpose).<br /> <br /> Definitely looks like it'd be fun though, charging 120 gaunts up field.]]></description>

Why are they better than normal gaunts exactly?</div></blockquote><br /> <br /> While not as useful for actual damage potential or scoring, gargoyles still have a couple uses I think.<br /> <br /> Gargoyles are still good for providing 5+ cover for a foot slogging nid army, especially if you have several <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(93);'>MCs</span>.  This cover save coupled with venomthrope shrouded can give your <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(93);'>MCs</span> or other troops a 3+ cover save for a turn or 2 as your units advance.<br /> <br /> Secondly, they are good for harassment against units that fare poorly in melee.  They can usually get in melee by turn 2 unless they are focused (which is what you want anyway) and tie up a ranged unit for a turn.<br /> <br /> Given how many gaunts are in this list though (and lack of walking <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(93);'>MCs</span>), you would need a lot of gargoyles to provide adequate cover, and at that point <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(269);'>id</span> just take more gaunts instead.  ]]></description>
