				<title>Help with Salamanders</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ hey there im new to marines and slightly new to <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span> and want to try to do a salamanders marine list trying to ether abuse their Master crafted rule or bring lots of flamer/melta weapons to get the benefits from those. was thinking some kinda allies might be needed but not sure which would be best thought maybe <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(305);'>GK</span>'s as they got some decent flamer weapons. which idea would be more competitive? my store is mostly xenos/daemons and a few <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(10);'>BA</span>/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(25);'>DA</span> players. my goal is 1850pts as that is where our league is ending. any help would be great. ]]></description>

				<title>Help with Salamanders</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Well, Sallies do drop pods really well. Basically the idea is, you drop in with as many pods as you can turn 1 and inflict so much damage with your combi weapons and special weapons that your opponent can never recover. This is referred to as an alpha strike.<br /> <br /> Things that are good in a list like this are:<br /> <br /> Sternguard: lots of combi-weapons; these are your main pain-bringers for the alpha strike.<br /> <br /> Ironclads: these don't cause tremendous amounts of damage, especially the turn they arrive, but because of their potential To shred vehicles and be a general nuisance, they force your opponent to deal with them as opposed to other things like stern guard or scoring units.<br /> <br /> Thunderfire Cannons: these deploy normally but can be given empty pods to drop. On the surface this may se like a waste, but it can allow you to drop most if not all f your army turn 1; eliminating the typical bane of drop pod armies; piecemeal arrival. They also do a ton of damage, can snipe out characters through barrage wound allocation and will likely survive a long time because your opponent will be busy with all the stuff you dropped in his face.<br /> <br /> Storm talons: you need some <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(805);'>AA</span>; pod lists don't have much in the way of it on the ground.<br /> <br /> As for allies, it depends on what you want to do. Dark angels can be good for guaranteed prescience libbies and a unit of Deathwing termies arriving T1 with your pods.<br /> <br /> ]]></description>
