				<title>1500pt Foot Guard </title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Been wanting to try out just using a mass of guardsmen, so I put together this list for a non-competitive game.  Having never really delved into blob battles, I'd like some tips/suggestions.<br /> <br /> My basic idea was to pop the L. Commissar in the blob, run forward using cover while getting flanked by Vets and  PSword <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(331);'>PCS</span> (for orders).  The smaller Inf Platoon, would guard the Manticore, and the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(331);'>PCS</span>/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> would provide Sniper fire.<br /> <br /> Warlord<br /> Lord Commissar - Power Fist<br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> w/Regimental Standard, 3x Snipers<br /> <br /> Inf. Platoon<br /> Pt. Commander - P. Sword<br /> 4x Squads<br />   4x P.Swords, Meltabombs, and Meltaguns.<br /> <br /> 6x Lascannons<br /> 3x Autocannons<br /> <br /> Inf. Platoon<br /> Pt. Commander, 3x Snipers<br /> 2x Squads<br /> <br /> 2x Vets w/Grenadier & Demo - 2x Plasma Guns, 1x H. 				<description><![CDATA[ Lord Commissar; a good choice  for blobs, especially with the useful power fist. I have to say I tend to run 1/2 normal commissars in each blob as it is cheaper. (And I sometimes run 2 squads of <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span>, so don't have space)<br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> are excellent. Standard is so good for its cost in a foot army. Sniper rifles are a bit underwhelming. If you want long range firepower give them a lascannon instead. Better against more targets.<br /> <br /> For the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(331);'>PCS</span>, don't bother with power weapons, 5 guard are going to die to most things in 1 round of combat. If you want to upgrade them I would recommend flamers or meltas.<br /> <br /> The blob itself. 40 guys, plus commissar support is solid. Meltas are good too, I run either lascannon or plasma instead, but that depends on what armies you normally face. Power axes are definitely the weapon of choice for sergeants. At I3 normally, we don't strike before too much anyway (necrons/orks pretty much), but the bonus strength and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(6);'>AP</span> is massive.<br /> <br /> For <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(59);'>HWS</span> I always run lascannon, as it just kills things much better than the autocannon. I have never regretted that decision.<br /> <br /> Again in the second <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(331);'>PCS</span>, keep it simple, probably unupgraded. Grab a commissar to babysit the 20 strong blob.<br /> <br /> Vets can only take 1 doctrine, so either grenadiers or demo, not both. I run (4) vet squads with grenadiers, and 3x plasma gun in each. I've found it very effective. The heavy flamer is somewhat overpriced for what it does. <br /> <br /> A single Manticore, even with camo is not much more than a target, and is unlikely to last long, unless you have a convenient large <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(85);'>LOS</span> blocking piece of terrain in exactly the right spot. I would dump this, and run more veterans to saturate your opponent with targets.<br /> <br /> <br /> As a note, my list is similar with a 50 man blob with power axes and lascannon, backed up by 2 lascannon <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(59);'>HWS</span>, and 4 plasma vet squads with grenadiers. (I also run <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(119);'>SM</span> allies to get Tigurius for the blob; Divination powers make it really scary).<br /> <br /> <br /> Hope this is useful.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Not a bad list, Take out snipers and give them flamers and run them with the blobs, take meltas or flamers for the blob sqauds, always take commissars in case lord dies (targeted out by powers barrages ect) and the extra power axe attacks never fail, also always take power axed because strength 4 is so much better then 3.<br /> <br /> The manticore is OK better if there were 2 but w/e. I would probably drop it and take another unit of vets, for vets if there is a lot of cover take scouts doc. because of camo cloaks and defense nades. Demo is best for vendetta drops.<br /> <br /> Other then that roll well and good luck!]]></description>
