Hormagaunt Basing

Hi, Al.

I'm currently basing my Hormagaunts and Termagants, but due to the fact that they use slotta bases, my usual type of base design which generally involves a layer of cork won't really work due to the tab on the bottom of the model.

To all you people who've dealt with this issue before, would cutting the tab off of the model and gluing it to the base by its itty bitty foot create a strong enough hold to be viable? Or do any of you know of a better solution?

It'll work just fine. The tab isn't necessary, it's just a convenience thing. If it worries you, you can also always drill a hole in the feet and pin it to the cork.

I usually pin gants and gaunts to resin bases after lopping off the slotta-base tab.

Just drill a small hole in it's foot and superglue in a brass rod.
The ankles seem to hold well in most cases. if not drill the pin in further!

For Termagants you could probably just glue them and they'd be fine. The Hormagaunt on the other hand has a tiny attachment point, I'd definitely pin it.

As said here, pinning would save a lot of headaches in the future when their tiny cloppers inevitably snap.
