1999+1pts of Nids trying to actually be competitive.

hows this?

250 1x Hive Tyrant / Wings / 2x TL Devourers / Hive Commander (Warlord)
230 1x Hive Tyrant / Wings / 2x TL Devourers

45 1x Venomthrope
45 1x Venomthrope
45 1x Venomthrope

215 1x Tervigon / Clusterspine / Miasma Cannon
240 30x Termagaunts / Devourers (Flanking)

150 1x Harpy / Clusterspine
150 1x Harpy / Clusterspine
150 1x Harpy / Clusterspine

170 1x Exocrine
170 1x Exocrine
140 1x Mawloc

exactly 2000pts

I just realized that flanking the 30 Devilgaunts is a fantastic idea, they're 8pts each instead of the old 10pts each and they only need to pay 20pts (hive comander) to come in out of nowhere instead of the old 45pts of the Mycetic Spore. Its alot of dudes but its not so many points for that the sheer mass of gaunts that all have 3 str4 shots with 18" range. Thats 90 shots! 90!!! from only one unit! that comes out of nowhere! for only 260pts!
The Miasma cannon works very well with the Tervigon, 2 Large Blast per turn + Termagaunt spawning + Psychic power makes for a very industrious 215 points troops choice Heavy MC.

Mawlocs gives you a cheap Heavy MC that will burst out blocks of defenses. I find he can really add another dimension to the game by always going back under and double blasting a spot, of your choice, with no armor or cove saves. The Terror from beneath!!!! If anything survives, the deepstrike misshap only bothers him 2/6 time so he can go even if theres a big tough guy without risking his life that much.

I'm going for maximum anti infantry in blast templates department (up to 12 per turn, minimum Str5), then the flyrants gun down the light vehicules and or infantry. Then the gaunts flank and blasts!!!
Any super heavy armor I'm going to try to swarm with many FMC that smash with 3 Str10 Ap2 hits each on the charge, combining a harpy to a charge with a hive tyrant is awesome, they can rip up Deamon Princes and anything really if I can get 2-3+ on it due to piercing shreech, My FMC would do this right after having mowed down the infantry in the shooting phase. Its blast and then charge. Blast and then charge.

The venomthropes should be able to cover the FMC in the first round of shooting, especially if the opponent starts first, maybe even beyond but if not then your Exocrine and Tervigons are blasting the crap out of him with a 3+cover save, Fear the Bioplasmic Cannon!!! Venomthropes should try to use all the line of sight blocking terrain to maximum use and the Exocrine to hide behind too, if he cant see him than he cant shoot him.

I think this can work as a list
even in a competitive setting I dare say.

what does Dakka think?
