Ultimately, I opted to just say 'feth it' and go with Karak Stone as was recommended to you by the GW staffers. The old name for Karak Stone is Kommando Khaki so you know, also.

I have no idea what this would transfer to in Vallejo pants, but the Karak Stone (Kommando Khaki) covers very well.

I went the opposite direction for 'highlighting', instead opting to use the old Flesh Wash color to darken the recesses and do rust/weathering in those areas and around the rivets on the vehicels. I then went in and hit the entire tank with a good coat of Gryphon Sepia wash.

Here's an example of how it turned out:



A light drybrushing of Bleached bone would give you a brighter overall appearance, but I wanted a more 'dingy' look to my vehicles, like they'd been in the field a long while.
