So.... Land speeders in tank lists?

I run a list where I have 3 tac squads all in some kind of transport (2 rhinos and a storm raven). I was wondering how well Land speeders would work with this build and how I should outfit them.

So.... Land speeders in tank lists?

They're basically good in any kind of list, you just need to have a plan for what you're going to use them for. Dual MM are a good anti-tank, Dual HF are good anti-hoard, LS Typhoons can hang around at standoff ranges shooting at enemies, etc.

Downsides: everything can kill them (S4 weapons can easily glance them to death), and they're worth killing because they carry a disproportionate amount of firepower for how easy they are to kill.

The LS is a very flexible platform. You can equip it for a number of roles, depending on what you need done. They are fragile (but will surprise you sometimes, don’t forget the jink save) Use LOS to limit who can shoot at them, and have another targets in your list that your opponent needs to make hard choices about who gets shot. I find that the TML/HB speeder flitting around the backfield does enough damage to justify it’s points, while not being as aggravating as other things in my list. MM speeders on the other hand need to hide, then sprint to the target for their one shot.

All the double weapon speeders have a clarity of role. 2x(MM, HF, HB) you have one shooting profile, get in your range and do it.

The classic MM/HF speeder is a relic from days of old, but remains a flexible TAC choice.

TML/HB gets the safety of range, puts out a stream of mid-weight firepower, and has a reasonable price. My personal favorite these days.

The AsC is an odd fish. You need to be in close range to use it, so can be brought down by small arms. But you lack the punch of a MM or HF. And pay a lot of points. Not a fan.
