Im planning on a Fist army, and want to get some comments

HQ:
Pedro Kantor
5x Honour Guard, 2x Relic blade, 1 Axe, 1 Maul.

ELITE
10 Sternguard, heavy flamer, drop pod
10 Sternguard
5 Sternguard, 2x Lascannon

TROOP
5 Scouts
5 Scouts, sniper

FAST
2x Storm Talon, skyhammer

HEAVY
TFC
5 Dev, 3x Lascannon
Land Raider Crusader.


Plan is to get Pedro, Honour Guard and 10 Sternguard in the Raider.
The other 10 SG pod down to either support the heavies in the rear or making a bridge-head for the Raider.

The Devs and Lascannon SG stay back zapping targets inside their bolstered terrain.


I know all my point are in the raider, but what do you think?

They're horrible now. Getting them into the LR and moving up is a good plan (assaulting 5 HG + Pedro + 10 Sternguard out of a raider is deadly). The only issue is that it makes that one single LR a heavy target without much support.

I like that you're bringing lots of sternguard, but I'm not sure on their loadout. Maybe not take 2 Las on the 5 sternguard and put the extra one with your Devestators? Although 5 Las is nicer than 4. I could go either way on that one.

TFC is fantastic.

I think you need more to support your huge points sink you've got in that Raider. The rest seems okay but I worry about only a single pod coming in. Makes a good target for all the interceptor fire.

If he's using those Sterguard as a suicide squad it's not so bad. But they're not loaded out as a suicide squad though. I'd go with 2 HF and 4-5 Combi-Melta, and Combat Squad them on deployment. Then he could have the Meltas go after armour and the flamers hit squishy troops on the drop (plus split up the interceptor fire even more).

After that I would try to go for more snipers becayse 10 wounds of troops isn't a lot.

5 Sternguards with 2 Lascannons cost 160 pts.
5 Devastators with 4 lascannons cost 150 pts.

Your Sternguards in that set up cost a total of 655 points. I'm not sure what you want with them, but as an example
10 Sternguard with Flamer, Heavy Flamer, 3 Combi-Meltagun, Vet Sergeant with Combi-Melta in pod
10 Sternguard with Flamer, Heavy Flamer, 3 Combi-Plasmagun, Vet Sergeant with Combi-Plasma in pod
-> 640 pts

You could combat squad them, having one squad for AT, two squads for anti-infantry and one squad for anti-2+sv. The reason for the Sternguards with Lascannons are that Pedro makes them scoring, so they could hang out with the TFC and/or Devs in the rear grapping an objekt.

But it makes sense to get all the Lascannons in the Devs for Tank Hunter. I just like the idea of picking more targets with 2 sets of LC.

I think the Sternguard gets a little pricey with combo weapons put the sure work, if they are not intercepted to death, tried that plenty times :(


Why are Relic Blades bad? they´re AP3 S6 at I4, so a mix of Axe/maul/relic would be nice in my opinion.
