Not sure if this should go here or in general, but I played a couple games running 2 tervs w/ 30 gants each and it takes freaking forever to move that many bugs and keep them all 2" apart. Are there any simple tricks or other ways to make running lists with swarms or blobs not take a ridiculous about of time to get through setting up and the movement phase?

I have a friend who plays orks, and we found a good solution.

Some of the old starters (maybe new ones too?) came with these red measuring sticks.
I tried this over a decade ago, whippersnappers.

My takeaway was that they can work well as DEPLOYMENT trays, but their value is limited as MOVEMENT trays. Too often terrain gets in your way, or you want to change formation for whatever reason.

It should also be said that 60 infantry models isn't that many, and you could probably see improvement just by moving them with some speed and purpose every turn. Get a GF9 TAC template and 60 Termagants shouldn't be taking you longer than a minute or two to move.

Re:Moving your squads of 30 termagants.

it's a little messy and weird as far as ideas go, but you can buy invisible string from most online showman magic stores. Have a separate strand tied around each gaunt, and then before the game begins, hold the ends together in one clump using blue tack. This allows you to drag the gants around and as one dies you simply unbind its string from the blue tack. Good luck with uneven surfaces though! Id only recommend this method if you have a flat non-gravelly playing surface, otherwise you'll spend as much time picking the gants back up as you would've moving em. It also takes quite an understanding opponent as you'll end up bunching your gants. Fear the pie-plates!

I have been toying around with the idea of "net"movement trays... as solid ones dont do so hot on terrain...

but mostly.. PRACTICE.... sounds like ajoke, but i just practice moving two models at a time with both hands with my orks...

improved my time to move each unit by a lot suprisingly...

people joke that I am more focused and serious when playing my orks then my more competitive lists.. as I really have to try to make sure the game has enough time to be finished!
