Anti-vehicle capacity in a Dark Eldar army.

So, I wanted to buoy the ability of my Dark Eldar to pop open enemy vehicles. I was thinking about adding in a Talos. I've seen lots of people enamored with the blasterborn, but it seems like the Talos would be a better option. What do you guys think?

My aversion to the haywyches and the blasterborn stemmed from the fact that they both seemed really fragile.

The reavers are a really good option, I just think they get really pricey, with relatively low anti-vehicle capacity for the points you're dropping into them.

As said blasterborn and haywire witches are doable. Reavers and scourges are also good delivery methods (and scourge models are pretty legit) I've only ever had talos get shot down pretty quickly, rather have a ravager any day.

I have no idea why Ravagers aren't mentioned in this thread. Get night shields on them to get medium arms fire away, sit at maximum range, and watch things explode. 1 good penetration roll is all you need.

The blasterborn are seriously good as well, no doubt. But you're getting close with a pretty fragile unit. That venom will pop with enough small arms fire. I do take them anyways of course. They really do a good job for the cost.

The haywires are ok if you don't like sitting back and shooting. I think AT role is secondary for reavers to be honest.

Buddy of mine has literally every last unit of his inside Ravagers and Venoms, almost always all entirely with nightshields. He beats me all the time.

Ravagers with dark lances are pretty nasty. Things you want to take anyway + big gun that can fire at something different than the unit inside = profit. I wish my Space Marine Razorbacks were that cost effective.

Blasterborn in a venom are generally the better choice for insurance. Cover saves for bikes are too easy for armies like Tau to ignore, but you could certainly try it.

Anti-vehicle capacity in a Dark Eldar army.

Talos are more of a fun choice. The fact they are slow and have to get close is a major deficiency. Haywire blasters on scourges are my go to AV. My current opponents have not mastered the art of target priority and my scourges regularly kill double their points in vehicles. I like Reapers over Ravagers just because you don't see them and IDing a monstrous creature now and then is fun. For the most part though heavy is my fun slot and I keep scourges as AV hunters.

Blasterborn are great, but I prefer the output of poison shots from Splinterborn on a two SC Venom and field two every chance I get. One squad of blasterborn is enough typically and makes for a good anti-terminator squad if nothing else.
