Protecting Havocs/Devastators first turn, going second

So what are some general tips and ideas of protecting these static units that need LOS, don't want to move, and have the unfortunate luck of going second? My only idea is Target Saturation. Using Dreads, Blobs, maybe blocking them with a rhino, but if that gets wrecked and blocks your LOS you still have to waste another turn moving.

Generally I use Oblits that can move and shoot, so I haven't had this problem yet, but I really wanna try a Triple Havoc list.

An aegis defence line is also an option.

Don't put a heavy weapon on every squad member. Use some as naked ablative wounds. For example, 5-man Havoc squad with 3 Autocannons and 2 stock. Put the stock ones in front of the rest and the opponent has to first kill those 2 to kill your firepower, which is hard to do from 48" away. Also, if he is targeting your Havocs with long-range firepower, which happens to mostly be high-strength, low AP variants, he isn't targeting your tanks or fast CC elements.

Blocking them with a Rhino with a Havoc launcher that has the same range is also a pretty good tactic.

That said, I'm an Eldar player, I just often play against CSM and picked up a trick or two.

Buy 2-3 extra ablative wounds with bolters, an Aegis Defense Line/Fortification with cover and you're done. It makes it harder to quickly reduce their effectiveness in a single shooting phase, and if flankers/pushing enemy infantry assault your home positions you have a stronger defense.

The Rhino trick, even with the flat out gimmick, is too much of a waste of points to be effective.
