Inspired and in very good taste.

I would have used a wire root, a harder material than GS (brown stuff, aves apoxie, milliput), and files to trim the muzzle bells into more accurate shapes. They appear a little soft and uneven.

The beard knot-work seems a bit pinchy. I'm amateur enough that the last part sounded like it may have been in a foreign language to me. That being said, your criticisms are clearly right on and I'd love to do better moving forward on this and other projects.

Go to a fabric shop and ask them to help you find the thinnest needles. Tell them what you are using it for. Once you have a packet of tiny needles, try to carefully bend the tips into curves. Some may snap. Once you have a nice curved micro-needle, mount it into a tight fitting hole at the end of a wood handle. a 5" dowel would suffice. Mount the needle deeply to ensure the shaft does not flex as you use it. SAND the wood around the shaft to a taper for good clearance.

This is the tool you want if you want to sculpt good dwarf beards.
