Caliban did supply troops to the war effort, the training grounds were constructed near the Dark Angel's fortress and they typically were sent with the Dark Angels as support units. Others were sent off to other engagement zones, but neither Decent of Angels or Fallen Angels says much about them as far as I can recall.
