Ponies are the polar opposite of Warhammer

So being that most of you are over the age of 2 you probably know of the show "My Little Pony" and its entirely male following the "Brony." What is this show exactly... well it is a T.V. show designed and marketed for little girls in their childhood and preteen years. Then why do so many guys (not deserving the title of men) watch this show. Well that is a question for a bigger debate I am here for a more condensed topic and that is why Warhammer 40k is the polar opposites of this and that nobody that watches said kids show should honestly be able to call themselves a fan of this war game. Lets take a look at warhammer 40k first. What is it... "The GRIM DARK FUTURE." Grim= Adjective Forbidding or uninviting (of humor) Lacking genuine levity; mirthless; black. Not barn yard rainbow time with these splashes of pain were expose to call ponies. Dark= Adjective: The absence of light in a place. Now look at any scene in the show and try to apply this word. Future Adjective= At a later time; going or likely to happen or exist. Didn't think I had one for this did you? Wrong. Several million years in the future were are the horses... oh wait their mounted buy the men of the Imperial Guard and slammed into the flank in terrain so rough mechanized units cant travel. Now that sounds like a great place for a inbreed rainbow Equus ferus don't it? In case you actually took a second to think no it is not a great place for a inbreed rainbow Equus ferus AKA our ponies in question. Take this to thought and give me your thoughts please and thank you fellow war gamers.

Yours Truly

Beating a Dead Horse

P.S

Till it cries blood in Inquisitions cleansing

I too share the confusion over the Brony phenomenon.

Somebody did raise the point that the creator of that show did make "Foster's home for imaginery friends" which I did watch when I was probably older than the intended demographic. In saying that I didn't fill my room with the merchandise and didn't watch it religiously.

Like everything it can be a bit creepy when it's taken to far.

Aww man. Another one of these?

Look, none of us get it either. Live and let live though. A lot of things I do would be considered utterly bizarre by particular communities too.

k?

Beating a dead horse 2 wrote:
... well it is a T.V. show designed and marketed for little girls in their childhood and preteen years. Then why do so many guys (not deserving the title of men) watch this show.

'Because they enjoy it' would seem like the obvious answer.

A show being targetted at a specific group doesn't mean that others shouldn't enjoy it. Many successful shows over the years have made a point of using clever writing to keep parents or older siblings interested in shows intended primarily for younger kids, on the assumption that this makes it more likely for the younger child to be allowed to watch the show in the first place.

Sesame Street is probably the most obvious and most famous example of this in action.

Well that is a question for a bigger debate I am here for a more condensed topic and that is why Warhammer 40k is the polar opposites of this and that nobody that watches said kids show should honestly be able to call themselves a fan of this war game.

So people can only like things that are similar to each other? You can't like sour and sweet?

That's a very small box that you're trying to put yourself into.

This isn't likely to go anywhere good, and given that the generally antagonistic feel of the original post seems deliberately intended just to wind people up, I think we're done here.
