				<title>New Player building 2014 Tyranids..</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ This is my first time posting a list for comments. I only play casually right now in a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(211);'>LGS</span> league. I normally play Tau, so Tyranids is a bit of a departure in terms of tactics.<br /> <br /> I would like it to be mostly fast melee. Get up in opponents face and chew them to bits. 				<description><![CDATA[ Break your Squads of gaunts up into smaller squads.  That will help you move a bit faster, and be more versatile.  <br /> <br /> I'm not sure where the Trygon fits in your list.  If you drop a Warrior, you could replace him with 2 more Fexes.  Since you are planning a slow slog across the board, Fexes seem like they would fit in a bit better.<br /> <br /> This suggestion go a little far afield of a simple list tweak, but, maybe running huge swarms of Gargoyles could give you enough speed to be competitive without seriously reducing your killing power. Drop the Trygon and 1 Squad of Gaunts, and you could run 3 squads of 20 Gargoyles. <br /> <br /> I'm not sure that a Melee oriented list will ever be very versatile in 6th edition, but if you do have success please let us know.]]></description>

So its not necessary, but I really love the model. I guess my logic was that he would deepstrike to disrupt the opponent, giving more time to the rest. What I think are the only killers are the Swarmlord, Carnifexes, maybe the warriors and the tyrant guard. I'm not used to building melee heavy lists, but that was sort of the challenge.<br /> <br /> I feel like the new Codex is trying to be more swarmy. I understand that gargoyles are good for that, I just don't want shooters. Despite 6th edition being a shooty game.<br /> <br /> How do people feel about Raveners? They could work in tandem with the Trygon.]]></description>

The Deep strike is pretty effective, and the Mawloc has no shooting at all.  Plus he is cheaper.<br /> <br /> I've never used Raveners as they seem too expensive, but they would server a similar purpose to Gargoyles in that they add a lot of Speed.  One other option to consider is Shrikes.  They cost the same as warriors, have the same stats and wargear.  ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ For the price you paid for the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(219);'>SL</span> and guards.. you could have two <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span> spec'd flyrants. They would be much faster and generate more targets.. Plus getting them into combat is easier and tech give you 4 powers instead of 3. <br /> <br /> If your running <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span> then you need to be moving as fast as you can.. Get some <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(160);'>AG</span> on those carnis and warriors... to get them into combat faster.. if they deploy right or play a fast army.. they could just kite you around till they wipe you off. <br /> <br /> Gargoyles don't have to be shooters.. use them as a flyrant screen then use their blind as part of an assault from them and some horms.. or a flyrant. they should fail a blinding test at some point and time. (provided not immune)<br /> <br /> If you want <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span>, I can understand that but you need to get much faster units... slow walking across the board for three turns means you are likely just to be shot to pieces. ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Yeah, mawloc doesn't need any upgrades.. you could put <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(130);'>TS</span> on your tyrants with that.. or add some thorax stuff if you want some wall of death overwatch or a template before you charge. <br /> <br /> Given what you want to do, I think the second list is a fair bit better than you first. ]]></description>
