Working on a new nidzilla list to start playing in the local tourney scene. Looking for feed back on armies that would be a hard matchup to with against with this list.
The one thing that jumps out at me the most is the amount of points you have spent on regeneration.
I agree with the previous statement. That is a lot of points in regen. I would only ever consider it on the Tfex. I've play tested it many times and I think I've regened one wound in 6 games. Anything less that 6 wounds just risks being focused down.

A walking tyrant with guards could allow you to spread wounds around which could make it viable but that is an expensive unit.

At 1850 you are running two very easy to kill troops. If you fail to table your enemy, which is likely, you will be in a rough place.

To add to that, you have two synapse creatures, one of which is your warlord and both of them are big targets. You also have a synergy imbalance with this set up. With your flyrants being your anchor.. you need to hang one of them out early to keep up with the harpy and the crone... while one hangs back to keep the rest of your troops in ranks.

You should be looking to get some more in there. Even if its just a zoan that you hide in the hide parts of the fexes.. you need to free the winged beasts to hit flanks and go after certain targets.

You also need to free up points for more troops.

Re:1850 Nidzilla semi-competative build

1) I think investing in some adrenal glands is going to be critical. Fleet is mandatory on the haruspex and useful on t-fex. Could be handy on the flyrants too. I'd ditch the spores to pay for it on the haruspex for sure.
2) The only synpase is the tyrants. That is a big issue since you are relying on termagants for scoring. I'd consider using the points from removing all the regens to either get a zoathrope and/or pay for stealers or warriors as your troops.
3) Not enough reliable scoring. As above I'd drop regen to beef up your scoring.

Not enough Synapse. Drop a TFex for a Trygon Prime. Also would drop all of your Regen except maybe on Tyrants (Synapse). Then you can get another Harpy or Haruspex. Lastly, not sure the Exocrine fits well. You are getting most of your AP 2 from Assault. Consider Carnifexes.

I doubt you will win a lot of games with this list, but it could be fun.

Re:1850 Nidzilla semi-competative build

Thanks for all the great feedback everyone. I made some changes and updated the first post and put the old list behind a spoiler so I dont clog up the feed.

Removed regeneration from everything to add 3 zoanthropes, removed the 6 spores to add adrenal glands to both haruspex.
Im gonna try and playtest everything out this friday, but my goal is to have a fun monster mash list that can also be competitive.

For Im thinking of keeping the troops in reserve to keep them alive a little longer. running the Zoanthropes in the middle in front of some of the MC and using them to provide a cover save to the tyrannofexes. They have the 3++ so they should do fine and privide that intervening cover so to help get the big stuff over the field. Probably going to try running all 3 heavies close together, put the 4 flyers together, and then the 2 haruspex together.

I think you are missing some key factors here.. If you reserve those gants.. and they come on the board with no syanpse.. ( which they would) next turn if they fail IB they could turn around and just run off the table.

You simply have to few troops and those troops are tissue paper...

Zoans are only t4 and 2 wounds... 3++ is nice but they die to a reasonable amount of bolter fire. You would want to hide them behind the fex.. it is there to keep them alive and throw out some buffs.

I would drop both Haruspex. It really is a terrible monster. It is certainly the weakest unit in the book. 175 points for 3 Ws3 attacks and no ranged attacks. Compare and contrast with your Tfexes for the same points.

Dropping the Haruspexes frees up elite slots and points. This gives you option. The first 140 points should go on 2 Venomthropes and an ADL that should provide 2+ cover for the first 2 turns as your monsters advance.

You could then get more Synapse by swapping your troops choices and spending the remaining 210 points on warriors. That will get you 3 units with cannons. Then you could afford to drop a Zoanthrope to get some extra upgrades. Perhaps some adrenal for the Tfexes to help them get across the board quicker or some toxin for the Tyrants so they can go up against other MCs better and for reliability against everything else.

Or you could get a Tervigon and Termagant brood. Again giving more Synapse this also brings you back up to 8 MCs.

Re:1850 Nidzilla semi-competative build

Well it will certainly be something to aim for.

The haruspex isnt that bad, hes cheap, elite slot, 3 attacks +1 for tail, gets extra attacks for every wound made. heals himself in combat. hes really there to fill out my nidzilla though. He does have the 12" shooting attack too though, dont forget and on a 6 its a precision shot.

I changed up the list slightly to take 2 3 man warrior squads for better synapse and better staying power on objectives.

Haruspex is not cheap a Carnifex is cheap. He kills on average 2.36 Marines when he charges including his laughable bonus attacks. That's pathetic for 170 points a CC fex for 120 pointz kills 2.63. Yes the Haruspex regains wounds and has 5 wounds base. All this means though is that he's a tarp it. A slow moving CC Tarpit that doesn't work against the stuff Nids are afraid to fight in combat (like a Dreadknight). He's a pointless unit in this codex.

Two squads of warriors of minimal size is very vulnerable, particularly since they are your back field synapse making them high priority targets. I'd consider to add at least a third squad of warriors or genestealers, or add one or two squads of hormagaunts for a fast objective grab in the latter rounds.

As others have mentioned, one or two Venomthropes could do wonders for the survivability of the big monsters. T6 with 3+ or even 2+ isn't going to last very long in the open against any shooty army.

A bastion with com relays could help with reserve roles and offers your troop choices and venomthrope a place to hide.
