				<title>Eldar 1850 list assistance</title>
				<description><![CDATA[       Hello dakka, i've been playing around the idea of a list revolving of mainly using bikes and wraith units to have an army have both "slow" and "fast" elements and make the list a semi all-comers list. My list has now hit a snag with...playability? that i cannot find a solution to outside the typical cheese stacking of "less bikes per unit and MOAR SERPENTS!!!". Obviously i'm against this, and I'm not a fan of the seer council either (I like bikes, but I don't like cheesy bikes). Recently this has been brought to my attention by my last recent game against my brother, a tau player whose list includes 2 riptides and the experimental <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(39);'>FW</span> nirvana(sp?). Tried to mitigate the damage he was able to throw out by stagger deploying my bikes frm reserves and trying to use my cover saves, but since his list also includes 3 units of pathfinder (10 each) most targets hes shooting at have upwards of 4-8 lights each....so no cover and a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(14);'>BS</span> of 5-6 most shots= one dead unit of bikes each riptide, with the nirvana(sp) especially potent with having two big guns. Our game type happened to be purge the alien and it ended up 12-4 his favor with my 4 only being gained in turn 4 by charging my remaining models (one wraithknight with 1 one left, a single wraithgaurd, and a wraithlord with one wound left, and one wraithlord in the back of my deployment being able to bright lance his <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> to finish him off) and breaking one unit of fire warriors and killing a crisis suit unit and his commander <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span>. My kill count was 7 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(39);'>FWs</span>, 3 pathfinders, 2 crisis, his commander <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span>. Night fighting was active which severely hampered my shooting ability, especially with the Knight having to waste a turn to jump foward in order to even attempt to shoot his back line riptides (i was unable to wound any of them by the games end due to the nova 3+ invul, the nirvana taking one wound from failing his role the last turn). 				<description><![CDATA[ Well everything that is fast except the Wraithlords so I'd drop them both for another Wraithknight.<br /> <br /> I would also drop the Scatter laser off the Wraithknight. You already have 2 weapons so you'd never fire it, remember 2 wraith cannons are better than 1 twin linked always.<br /> <br /> Then get Shuriken Cannons on the Wave Serpents they will do more for you even snap shooting than a scatter laser you never fire. Even shot shooting they average a hit a turn due to twin linked.<br /> <br /> Spend any spare points on more Jet bikes.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ wouldnt you always take the scatter lasers on <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(149);'>WS</span> to <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(126);'>TL</span> your serpent shield gun mode? any actual damage the laser does itself is just icing. So far my games have seen them barely getting into range for the laser before getting either dying completely or immobilized against my bros tau. Good point on the WK scatter laser, we've been playing it wrong IE i've been shooting all 3 guns instead of the 2 a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(93);'>MC</span> is limited too -.-'. I think i'll play around with the idea of either 2 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(227);'>WLs</span> with dual cannons or just another WK. Any consensus on using the suncannon on the WK? And why switch out the 2 Heavy guns for the sword? Is the invul that important?]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Yes you always take the Scatter laser on the Serpent. But also a shuriken catapult as it too gets twin linked from the laser.<br /> <br /> Another Knights gives Tau a problem. As you can be in assault turn 2 and certainly will be turn 3.<br /> <br /> The issue you're having with your Serpents is the nature of a hybrid list against Tau. He can flat ignore the Jet bikes except with S5 firepower as that can hurt the Serpents. Meaning killing two Serpents should be doable in a single shooting phase. You out range him so use that to get the alphastrike. Or drop all the bikes and get 2 more Serpents for target saturation.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I think he meant Scatterlaser on the Knight, not the Scatterlaser on the Serpent. So you gain 20 points by removing the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(219);'>SL</span> on the Knight to upgrade your <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(126);'>TL</span> shuricats to a Cannon for 10 points each. <br /> <br /> Other than that, I'd probably do things a little differently. Since WRJ suffer from LD8, you could get your Farseer a max squad of 9 + Warlock, lose the two other Warlocks and get 2 min squads of 3 with a Shuriken Cannon upgrade.<br /> <br /> Then I'd exchange the two Wraithlords for 3 War walkers with Scatterlasers and spend the spare points on some Warp Spiders. Iyanden supplement because I think their Primaris is amazing, especially on D-Scythe Wraithguard(and think about a Battle-Focusing Wraithknight for a moment. <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(84);'>LOL</span>!) and because the Wraithforge stone can really up the durability of your big monstrosity. Also, Iyanden Warlord traits are pretty damn amazing! So you pretty much have to shove everything you have down his throat. Expose your other elements, but stay out of anti-infantry range(or at least the double-tap range of Pulse Rifles) and force him to spend his shooting on your less valuable units. You need to have your <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(225);'>WG</span> in position by Turn 2 or 3 at the latest, kill something important, then entrench on an objective or go and kill something in melee(against Tau, you'll mow down anything without a 2+ save and their overwatch won't hurt nearly as much, considering you're T6) or shoot stuff some more, depending on the situation, naturally. And above all else, kill those Broadsides, Markerlights and Riptides asap. Broadsides are definitely target-priority number 1. ]]></description>

I'm much more afraid of a bs5-6 large blast that ignores cover and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(269);'>IDs</span> an entire unit than a single (per model) s8 ap1 shot.<br /> <br /> Also, ive heard bad things about war walker lately since the new codex dropped, making them way to expensive for what they do compared to other models in their slot. He's using Railsides? In which case, isn't it S10 AP1? But yeah, sure, if he isn't using Missilesides, go after the Riptides first.  The fact you don't own Iyanden supplement changes little, just add a Warlock with a Jetbike and Singing Spear back in to put him in your large squad and ditch the Wraithforge Stone from the Farseer and Spirit Stone from the Spiritseer. <br /> <br /> I don't know where you heard bad things about War Walkers. Consensus(and I can attest to that firsthand, I've been playing them for 5 years straight, in every list I built and they got much better in the new codex(10 points more expensive for a Scatterwalker and you got +1BS, Battle-Focus, which is HUGE! and 5++ which is ALSO huge.) is that they're one of the best, if not the best <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(57);'>HS</span> choice. <br /> <br /> Also, if you're worried about Railguns killing them, just hide them from the Broadsides, get out behind cover, shoot and run back into cover with Battle-Focus. In any case, not telling you what to do, just giving advice. ]]></description>

And yea the farseer usually gets <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(269);'>ID</span> in his unit as is even with 6 bikes and a warlock to block him providing i don't fail the invul on the 5-7 wounds he has to take after everyone else is dead; so sry im'a have to pass on the "leaving him alone" strategy. I'd rather not hand over first blood and slay the warlord on the first turn for no effort.<br /> <br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: 9px; line-height: normal;">Automatically Appended Next Post:</span><br /> OK, been throwing points around and took in some suggestions and tried to stick to my theme.
