2000 Point Tyranid Dataslate Vs. Taudar - VANGUARD!

Thinking through some out of the box ways to deal with Taudar. I think the approach is obvious: Overwhelm with 11 close proximity targets, rush with the rest of the list and tie up everything in combat and kill all the scoring units.

Tervigon is the only HQ. The thought is that I can either bring all the gaunts up the Trygon tunnel, or slam them up the face with shrikes as synape. The Terv sits back and holds an objective and farts out additional scoring unit/s. Any lictors/genestealers that GTG will pop back up when either the of Trygon/s pops up, or the Shrikes jump into Synapse.

Think it can work?

2000 Point Tyranids:

HQ
Tervigon

Troop
Hormagaunt x20
Hormagaunt x20
Hormagaunt x20

Fast
Shrike x3
Shrike x3
Shrike x3

Heavy:
Trygon Prime
Trygon Prime

Data Slate	Death Leaper
Lictors x5
Manufactorum Genestealer x5
Manufactorum Genestealer x5
Manufactorum Genestealer x5
Manufactorum Genestealer x5
Manufactorum Genestealer x5

Thoughts?

You're very reliant on those shrikes which are T4 with a 5+ armour save. I think the dataslate swamping idea could be interesting but probably best tied with a number of FMCs who will be equally in their face and there's only so many markerlights to go round. Mawlocs are very good vs tau when they cram in behind an aegis. Trygon tunnel is not to be relied on.

For the record I think this list is excellent, I half agree with the previous comment about the shrikes but you ought to be able to get your pretty gants high up the field before they all die and even if they do, you're only risking 300 odd points without the synapse so its not the end of the world.

I would be tempted to swap out some of the manufactorium stealers for generic ones + broodlord as it will give you the horror which stacks nicely with your deathleaper and fast shadow in the warp. Giving your opponent lots of small targets that he can't concentrate his fire on is a wonderful idea but tau over watch is brutal and can easily wipe out or cripple such small units meaning that forcing lots of pinning checks will be absolutely crucial in my opinion.
