IIRC theres a currently un FAQ'ed dispute over whether or not I actually lose the shield. I cant use it in combat of course but against ranged I still benefit. Woc warriors are 3pts on a 14pt model for a halberd. And while the halberd doesn't shoot, it's pretty similar. Especially considering you will only ever get a few wounds from them shooting at the most. The range is simply too short and their BS too sucky.

They are a pretty solid unit. WS4, 4/4 with 3+/6+ (and better vs. fire) save at 12pts. You want more of them instead of trying to make them better. They are already a decent deal. They are basically Ironbreakers with -1WS -1pt cost and a ward vs. fire. Dwarf characters will say it's a bad deal but I say it's solid.

CD were created just before 8th edition when prices were still high. I'd advise taking 2 K'Daai Destroyers (1 each) it is the best way for WoC and CDwarves at this level. Literally start with a K'Daai Destroyer each and work from there.

Chaos Lord choices aren't really worth it at 1k.
