I'm trying to fill out my Heavy Support though, I have 1 Mawloc and 3 Carnifexes so far (2 are builts as double scytal and 1 is dakkafex)

I'll be getting another dakkafex soon!

To fill this out, should I get another Mawloc? Maybe a Tyrannofex? Exocrine? Exocrine - 6 shot's = 4 hits (assuming BS4) = 3.33 wounds
v 2+ save = 3.33 un saved wound's
v 4+ cover save = 1.66 un saved wound's
v 5+ cover save = 2.22 un saved wound's

DakkaFex - 12 shot's = 9 hits = 7.5 wounds
v 2+ save = 1.25 un saved wound's

Exocrine of course has more range but a DakkaFex "threat range" is the same (EX is 24" right?) considering you can't really move the EX. In the open the EX is superior but once again considering you need it to stand still id assume it would be easy to gain a cover save from it. Of course if you go the large blast and hit you may be open to allot more hit's and then the EX's ability to kill thing's increases. I am not sure if the increase in price is worth the difference between the two?

BT player just shot me to death with devs and flyers. The only time I faced one as WS, made all my jink saves/FNP (he shot at my command squad) and I subsequently killed it with one round if grav gun shooting from that same, unscathed command squad.

Id certainly go with a full brood of 3 but I'm not sure if you are over killing it with 36 shot's compared to 24 shot's when the target you are shooting at is the one you are likely to want to charge as well. Also, if you stick a naked Fex in the front he will take the wound's and you wont loose a DakkaFex before they get into range to fire...

I haven't yet but I would like to try 1 x Fex with Regen, put him in front to tank first turn shooting (maybe also second) and then put him in the back in subsequent round's so that he is (hopefully) back to full wound's before combat.
