Great work so far, here are some suggestions:
Try out washes. Even a simple black wash over the whole model is going to reveal a lot of definition in the model.
It looks like you have done some highlighting, but keep working at it. I highlight my reds with a mix of red and orange just on the edges and it makes the whole area pop. Highlights help make areas look less flat.
When painting white I start with a medium gray and work up to white. For the most part I only paint pure white on the edges of something and the majority of the 'white' is actually a mix of a small amount of gray and mostly white.

Some nice stuff! The simplest way to work with GW washes is just to paint the base area a nice clean bright-ish shade, then just paint the wash all over it. Agrax Earthshade over your white/bone/brown/gold areas, for example will add some lovely additional definition. I'd try it on those chest aquilas first.

Also, you've got some unbased models in here, which is contrary to the rules of the Showcase forum, so I'm popping the thread over to regular P&M. Thanks!

I would avoid oil washes for the time being. Get used to standard acrylic washes until you are a lot more experienced (IMO).
As the others have said, really great start so far. Your finish between colours is very neat. You maybe want to thin your paints a little though as some appear a big lumpy, especially the white on the sergeant's tabard (but this may just be the photos).
When you use a wash, this will create shadows but will also darken the bits you want to be bright. You will have to back over these areas just painting the raised areas.
I have no doubt you will be able to achieve this as said before, your early results are fantastic.
