First off, welcome to DakkaDakka.

Yes you can store them vertically. The paint rack I have for them is very much like a wine rack where they are vertical with a slight lean towards the cap.

Just like with every other paint make sure they are shaken up pretty well before painting.

Yes, sir, you can store them horizontally.

And just so you know, Valejo recommends that you roll, not shake the paint, to avoid the bubbles and get better mix on the paint...

I have made a homemade roller you can build for about 2 bucks...

http://billsravingrant.blogspot.com/2014/01/tools-2-paint-rollermixer-for-valejo.html

ciao! and welcome to DD!!!

Several VGC colours - charred brown and one of the yellows comes to mind - require stirring too. Shaking isn't good enough, even if you add agitators. I use a cheap milk frother from ebay with the bottom cut into an "L" to do this when necessary. A toothpick would also work ; p

VGC Droppers - can they be stored horizontally?

I'm all for rolling the bottles to mix (and have no problem doing it by hand, but that's mostly irrelevant). My issue with shaking wasn't so much the bubbles - as a sporadic painter, there was usually a degree of separation between painting sessions. If I tried to shake, some of the medium that rose to the top would invariably get lodged in the nozzle, spoiling the mixture of the initial drops. Rolling largely avoids that.

Storing the bottles horizontally should actually help you get even mixes by rolling, as the separation happens perpendicular to the nozzle and parallel to the direction of the bottle's travel. If I ever get around to building a paint rack, that's how I plan to store my Vallejo colors.
