Dust on dipped models

Howdie everyone.

I've recently bought some Warriors of Chaos models for WFB (they were a bargain) but the biggest downside is that they've been dipped and have dust stuck to them. Must have been kept in a dirty place shortly after painting. I've tried lightly rubbing or washing them with cold water, no effect. Do any of you have any ideas how to approach it? I could use some sort of alcohol but not sure if that would help

The dust will probably in-bedded in the dip, which is essentially a varnish. The only way to get rid of the dust is to strip the models completely - probably not what you want to hear.

Alcohol will strip some of the varnish but the dust is probably all the way through that varnish coating. If you can do better, just strip about 5 of them at a time and repaint them at your leisure.

Yeah, I dip my tyranids and once while i had some drying in the garage my roommate had done some priming nearby - the paint dust in the air all settled on the drying dip.

Had to strip em all and start over.

I used 91% alcohol, worked pretty well.

Strip, wash, reprime, repaint.

If dust lands on a drying model, especially dipped ones, it will become a part of that layer.

No two ways around it.
Just strip em
