My friends recently started getting into 40k. I've liked it for a long time but without anyone to play with never really bothered getting into it till now. I was initially torn between Dark Eldar and Tau but then I found out about Farsight Enclaves and I like it enough that it barely beats out Dark Eldar, plus I want to see if they get an updated codex.

I would like to stay with the idea of fielding mostly battlesuits and drones, but feel free to give any criticism you have. I also have a few specific questions:

1. Should I be running Marker Drones? How should I adjust to field the drones?
2. How should I adjust the army when moving up to 1850pts? 2000pts?
3. Would it be beneficial to run a Tau Empire detachment with a battlesuit commander for access to basic Tau signature systems? How would you field this detachment?
