2000 SM List

I think you've gotta find the points to mech up all the tac squads.

As for the HQ; he's not Tiggy. Which as a librarian, is a problem. You also are not taking a chapter master on bike, which is one of te chief benefits of this book. If you don't want to play UM or think space bikes are or sissies that's fine; just know you're trading effectiveness for pride.

2000 SM List

With all the vehicles, Iron Hands seems to be your go-to choice. FYI, Salamander’s CT doesn’t affect vehicles, as they lack the CT rule. Vulcan’s buff is army wide, and does, but that’s a different list.

Where is the librarian going and what is he doing? I assume hanging with the Devs, tanking wounds on his TDA and providing buffs. I might take a MotF instead.

Ironclad drop. It’s fun, but I’d like to see some HFs on those boys. At least on one. One of the perks of a drop pod list is the ability to put the proper units where it needs to be. So in drop lists I’d rather see variation rather then spam.

Your troops need a lot of help. What are they supposed to be doing besides standing around in the open and sucking wounds? Give them jobs, and give them the tools to do them. If not, they are just a ~500 point tax on your army.

Start with giving two of them drop pods. This will give you a total of 5, so all three of your dreads can be in the first wave. If we assume that the dreads will have cracked open any transports by the time the tacs arrive, we can safely gear them for anti infantry duties. I’d do one for hordes, and one for tough troops. So flamer/c-flamer sarge in one squad, and plasma/c-plas in the other. I’d take HBs, but I’m a traditionalist that way.

The 5 man unit should probably be replaced with scouts to save points. The other 10 man tac squad might also need to be trimmed or swapped out. I like 4 troops picks at 2k, but you have a lot going on here, and I’m not sure what to cut.

I like skyhammers on talons. I think they are a good compromise between point cost and firepower. While the LCs work, I think other parts of your list need the upgrades more.

Your HS picks make for a good firebase. Just be sure to keep the devs in cover and watch the fire lanes on the preds.

One thing you could do is go for a null deployment list. Everything in drop pods or flyers. Swap your HS section for a pair of stormravens, put some troops in there, and everything else in pods. You are already halfway there, depends on how attached you are to the preds/devs.

2000 SM List

Excellent advice from Nevelon.

-Skyhammers for the Talons is the way to go for sure.
-5 Tacs in a Rhino would be better as sniper scouts and put the Rhino with one of the 10 man tac units.
-Your Troops need transports or protection of some kind. Walking marines = dead marines.

Re:2000 SM List

Keep in mind that as you play larger games like 2000+ you are going to see lots of heavy-handed HQ choices... so you want to make sure you can deal with them (most of the time this means bringing your own). Also, you want to make sure that you are ready to tackle someone who is spamming their heavy support choices (4 of them with double force org. @ 2000 pts) which can often mean lots of MCs or heavy tanks. I think the Ironclad spam is nice for an Iron Hands list at games less than 2000 points, but at that points level they can easily be one-shotted by many heavy support units or HQs that have orbital bombardments, excellent melee skill, etc.

I would look at tuning this list for a smaller game or upgrading to the null-deploy list with multiple Storm Ravens like Nevelon mentioned.
